Sales and Wants / 360 or 430 windscreen WITHOUT Toyota logo!
« on: May 21, 2014, 06:09:33 PM »
Hi,
I've got a windscreen up for grabs for anyone who wants one WITHOUT any Toyota logos for their 360 or 430!

Its still in the car so is going to need to be removed. Sorry, I'm not able to do this as I can never get the damn things out in one piece!! Time is of the essence if you want it as I'll need to get rid of the car sometime early next week.

[][/img]

The MR2 is on the back of my truck so whoever takes it out will need to do it in situ on there. I'm in Coventry, less than 1 mile from junction 3 of the M6 so easy to get to. I'm available all over the Bank Holiday if someone wants it then. Looking for £40 for it but You'll need to be able to take it out yourself though and probably best to pay me for it first before you attempt to take it out as I'm sure then you'll do it more carefully!!! LOL  ;D

Drop me a message if you are interested  :)

Other kitcar chat / Dutton Phaeton
« on: December 16, 2013, 04:12:30 PM »
Got an old Dutton Phaeton that I'm hopefully going to restore at some stage (when I get the time). Always viewed them as an ugly car as such and not the best looking of kit cars. This does seem to be a little pocket rocket though and drives like a go kart. Wonder if any members have ever owned one or had any experience of them?

Before you ask, it was given to me so I got it at the right price before you all start saying what a bag of s**t they are!!! :)

Looking for a good cheap genuine low mileage Renault Clio Diesel. Its for my daughter as her first car so want something genuine that preferably one owner. Got cash waiting. I know its a long shot asking on here but a late Clio is one of only a handful of cars that she stands any chance of getting insured on>  :)

General Chitchat / Cheque THEFT scam! Very Clever - PLEASE READ AND BEWARE!
« on: December 01, 2013, 11:54:36 AM »
Thought I'd bring this is everyone's attention particularly if you have your own business. There's a gang travelling round the Midlands mainly I think carrying out a particularly clever fraud stealing cheques from businesses.

A car repair garage neighbour of ours was targeted yesterday and it was only by chance that, a mate of mine happened to be standing talking to me, recognised a guy coming out of the garage as a "wrongun" who he knew had been done for fraud in the past that it thankfully came to light.

This is how it works:- The team normally work in a group of 2 or 3 well dressed guys who will go into a car dealership/repair shop or any business for that matter. They will then express an interest in the product/car/service offered whatever with the intention of leaving one member alone in the office whilst the other members distract whoever is there. If the office is empty they will have the balls to simply walk in. Once alone in the office they'll quickly search through drawers or jacket pockets etc looking for the company cheque book. Now, heres the thing, they won't steal any money or valuables not even the cheque book itself. All they are interested in is taking a cheque out of the book near the back so it wont be missed. 1st Phase of the scam complete.

The next phase is either the same day or next day they'll get somebody different saunter in and ask are there any jobs going?  when they are told "no jobs here", they then come out with a sob story of how their dole money is about to be stopped so they are walking the streets desperately trying to get work. They then ask for a letterhead confirming that they have asked about any vacancies signed by a director or if a small business usually the boss himself/herself. Now most people are happy to give out such a letter as its a refreshing change to see someone actually looking for work!

The scammers now 9 times out of 10 have the necessary signature to copy onto the earlier stolen cheque! Depending on how affluent the business looks they then make the cheque out for anything from £1000-£5000. The cheque is then deposited into a bogus bank account (usually some junkie who has set up a genuine bank account for a couple of hundred quid cut of the proceeds). Providing there is enough money in the Bank then there is no reason for the bank to be suspicious and so usually the money is paid out.

The gang then withdraw using cashpoints and the first the business owner knows of this is when their bank statement arrives and they are a few grand down!  - DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT GUY's!

Sales and Wants / Cheap MR2 Facelift for sale!
« on: November 29, 2013, 01:34:50 PM »
Hi,

Got a cheap MR2 FACELIFT for sale!. Its high mileage at 158,000 so too higher mileage as a donor car is my thinking.

Its a 2003, got tax till end of January, MOT till August 2014 I think. Just had all the alloys shot blasted and powder coated. Leather interior, 6 speed, aircon, hood all good etc, etc.

[][/img]

Got loads more pictures if anyone interested. Totally the wrong time of year to be selling I know! Its a dirt cheap facelift though at £2100 o.v.n.o which you all know means I want 2 grand cash for it!  :)

Listed on gumtree at the moment but is just a long-shot that someone on here might be looking for one as a run about.

Hi,

Picked up this nice (lightly damaged!) MR2 today!. Its got a nice set of 17inch alloys with good tyres but with some pretty nasty scuffs on 2 of them. Just wondered if anyone can recommend an alloy wheel refurb company (cheap if poss!) in the Midlands? I'm in Coventry,  I bought some alloy wheel filler from ebay was going to give them a go myself with this and then get them powder coated. Has anyone else used this stuff and basically is it any good?

Hopefully you can see the damage to the wheels from the picture
Would appreciate any advice  :)

Just bought a "Wagon Wheel" biscuit......first time in years! Is it me or have these got much smaller over the years? Seem to remember as a kid that they were the size of dustbin lids!  :D

Oh and for the younger generation dustbins were what we had before wheelie bins! LOL
