4thirty Chat / She's gone!
« on: May 06, 2015, 08:02:10 PM »
I have just seen something which I have never seen before. The rear of my 4Thirty driving off down the road. I have sold her to Colin, new member on DNAOC "Top Gun". I am really sad to see her go, more so than I thought I'd be. She's gone to a good home, Colin's a really nice chap and I hope he's an active member of the club and attends the meets and shows.
Not sure what I will replace her with yet, but what ever it is I hope to see you all again at the shows.
Wendy and I have really enjoyed meeting you all, I can't imagine a friendlier owners club and would thoroughly recommend owning a DNA to anyone.
See you all soon

Meets and Events / Another show bites the dust --- DONNINGTON
« on: February 21, 2015, 02:04:17 PM »
Just seen this on the net. Looks like Donnington show is also no more.
Apparently it is moving to Castle Combe. It will be a one day show instead of two. It is published to take place on Sat 20 June.
Here's the link;

Madman, will you be allowed to travel that far south? ;)

Shame though, I like Donnington Park

4thirty Chat / Question about rear defuser brackets
« on: June 22, 2014, 05:54:45 PM »
Hi all
I was doing some work in the engine bay when I noticed that the 2 'L' shaped pierced brackets which hang down from the body to the inside of the defuser are not actually attached to the defuser at all.
I haven't noticed it before and can't work out if the brackets are used as bump stops preventing the defuser lifting up or should they be bonded to the defuser?
Thanks Mark

Is anyone intending going to the Hampshire event?
Looks like it's popular with clubs, is it worth considering as a DNA club meet?

Sales and Wants / Billet heater/fan control knobs and more
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:36:56 PM »
I recently bought a set of these knobs from an eBay ad, they look really smart in my 4thirty....much better than the plastic ones. The manufacturer, Steve has been in touch with pics of other internal trim items he produces for MR2s. He supplies other owners clubs and is keen to supply DNAOC members. If interested Steve can be contacted at glosterjavelin@yahoo.co.uk.

Meets and Events / Blenheim Classic Car Show 25 & 26 Aug Nr Oxford
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:37:04 PM »
I have been to this show for the last 5 years. It is the Sun & Bank Holiday Monday. I know Donnington is Sat and Sun but for those who get a nose bleed going that far north it is worth a drive out. You also get to wander around the grounds of the palace (extra charge if you want to go inside the house)
The web site is; http://www.classicshows.org/index.php
If you take the DNA it will cost you £3.50 for the Sunday/Monday (car and 2 adults) £10 to camp. For the BH Monday I have some free tickets, DNA owners PM me if interested.

Meets and Events / Cop Hill Climb 21st & 22nd Sept
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:07:53 PM »
We went to this last year, it was a really good day out. It's just outside Princess Risborough Bucks.
If you turn up in something a bit tasty (car not clothes) you are allowed to park at the front of the parking area, adjacent to where everyone stands to watch the hill climb. That area turned into a bit of a show in it's own right. They also have club stands etc but according to the web site these are already booked up, unless you are driving old classics.
The web site is; http://www.kophillclimb.org.uk/#
Certainly worth considering in the unlikely event that it doesn't rain and you fancy a drive out.

4thirty Chat / Speedo calibration problem
« on: August 13, 2011, 09:05:21 PM »
My speedo is around 7 to 8mph slow and I am trying to recal it.
I spoke with Tenpin and a couple of other members about this at Newark and was advised to remove the dials, unplug the connector from the rear of the speedo and when it is reconnected, the speedo needle should automatically deflect to 70mph. I have tried this with the ignition on and off with no deflection of the needle......what am I doing wrong?????
Thanks Mark
