Hi Manny The Facebook forum has a bit more action than here, people do come here but not as regular.

When I was younger my first car was a mk2 Escort which I painted in the RS Mexico colours, I also put a big bore exhaust on it, it was only 1600 (or 1.6 in today's money.) It was a great car and probably worth a fair bit now if I still had it. The problems I had with it was that I was always being stopped by the Police 7 times in one night was my record, and people were always trying to steal it. As a young lad I didn't have a garage, so it was parked on the street alarmed of course, but that didn't stop them trying.

Now I am fortunate to have 4 garages and some private land, so securing my 430 replica is not a problem, though whenever I leave it parked anywhere it draws a crowd so I doubt that anyone would attempt to steal it, I think if the Police saw a young lad driving it they would pull him. As a daily driver, well people use MR2 as their daily drive no problem, these are not exactly the same as they have a few modifications some more than others, but I cannot see why not. I personally wouldn't but that's because my daily drive is far more comfortable.

The great things about these cars are they are cheap to run compared to the real thing, they look the part and they are a bit of fun

I was thinking the same, unfortunately for me though my garage keeps moving my Clutch and MOT due to Covid staff shortages, so now I have no MOT the clutch slips a bit but I could have lived with that.

Hi, not been on for a while, been busy on the car!
Shortly I am going to need to tackle the dreaded roof install and am hoping that someone out there has a copy of the paper instructions, have been looking at Pauls build diary and he keeps referring to it, so hoping to track down a copy to help me!
Also, would be really helpful to see a completed one, but not sure if there is anyone in my neck of the woods (South Coast between Portsmouth and Southampton), that has a 430 spider and maybe has even fitted the roof themselves?
Thanking you all in advance!
Ta
Phil
I'm in Brighton but my car is off the road ATM MOT and clutch keeps getting canceled due to Covid and then catch up

Is it this one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FERRARI-F430-RECREATION-REPLICA-CONTACT-07723056623/174599285056?hash=item28a6eda940:g:PtwAAOSwKcxfqaDt

It has been on Ebay for a while since before Xmas I think. Should be advertised in Kit cars rather than Toyota

Oh yeah if you are careful drilling out the original blank key you can use the same hole to screw in your original key using the original Toyota screw ( I had to grind the end of the key down a bit to make it line up)

I have programmed up three transponders and three wireless txers one for everyday use one for spare and the other for emergencies. Not sure that there is any benefit in me importing these though, they are available on eBay from China I can save a bit on freight but I not everything I order is here in a couple of days as they make it to order.
