West Coast chat / Wheel spacers
« on: August 30, 2015, 07:42:44 AM »
Hi,

Can someone tell me if wheel spacers are used in the West Coast build?

If so, what size?

Cheers

Hi, johnjames,

Yes, saw your post and I do like the look of your car.

I would have thought the Hamann styled aero kit would stir up some interest if it was an option for West Coast.  ;)

Thanks, Furrari.  :D

I do like the look of the Hamann rear wing. But the cost is too high for an original. Was hoping that DNA will be able to offer other choices.

Rear mirror visibility is a very good point. I am still in the planning stage for this kit so will have to think about that one. Do I want to look good with the wing, or do I want to keep visibility? That's a tough one.

Is the issue with boot leaks just a problem with the older SL?

Great to see DNA will soon have Aero Styling System up and running on their website.

Hopefully there will be different varieties offered for each of their kits and with carbon fibre as an option.  ;)

Hi chaps,

How many styles of the aero kit does DNA make for West Coast?

I understand there is a post on the forum of "Hamann" aero kit but I personally prefer a rear spoiler with "legs" or stabilizers, giving a slight GT flavour to the car.

Black ones better looking than DNA's. Porsche's better looking than black ones. I always have a thing for deep dished wheels.

IMO Best would be Porsche's wheels in black.

I would have thought the kitted car would be comparatively lighter as the metal panels been replaced by fibre glass ones. However, no idea on the actual weight difference.

An eye watering £300. I want to cry when I think about it. But on the SL500 you are very limited due to the complicated electronics.

Definitely worth it! ;)

Nice job with the steering wheel. How much did it cost you?

Thanks, guys.

Would be nice to find a SL55 for this project if the kit would fit. The extra grunt would give your car the edge that it needs for make-believe. I had an encounter on the motorway yesterday where a couple of boy racers in their cars wanted a race with my 5cudo. Didn't know what mods they got on their cars but I
know mine is a just a stock Cougar V6. So in case I embarrass myself I didn't race them but gave them the snob instead.
