Getting DNA moulded door mirrors to fold
« on: March 21, 2021, 09:32:37 PM »
Thought I'd make this a separate topic because this part of my build can be done on any DNA 430 mirror. Unfortunately its a 'no going back' scenario.

I've always had this on my mind to do and now's the time.

Part 1 is cutting up and getting the mirror to swivel

Here's a vid of part1

Well, I'm into the 11th year of the project, could it be ready for Stoneleigh 2020, doubt it. The longest DNA build ever

I'll have a look for his build diary, he might have done it differently, and possibly a better way.

Mirrors are now complete, here's the video

I'll be bolting these to the doors instead of bonding, this will allow greater flexibility when bringing everything together after painting.
cheers

Hi d
Great work mate as always :) I knew you could do it.
I made a batch of steel base plates to mount mirrors on and then bolted to door.the plaster make the triangle on door a little wobbly so made some steels plates to fit inside triangle and that worked well :)

Looking really good mate. I am hyped to start a build soon. I was wondering from where I can find a complete list of the parts that I need in order to the the conversion. I also had an idea through my mind about Ls swap, but not quite sure if its gonna work or I should stick to Camry or Lexus V6.

Best regards,
Kris
