Carbon rear tail grill section, OEM?
« on: August 09, 2020, 07:11:45 AM »
I seen a few guys have the carbon fiber tail light grill section carbon fiber. Was this a dna mold or does the OEM/aftermarket carbon pieces fit?

The carbon fibre rear piece was an (expensive) option from DNA. I do not believe that an OEM item would fit.

Here's a link to a photo of my 5cudo part way through build showing the rear section of the car.

the carbon panel from the Scudo does not fit the 430 spider, I tried one on mine ,I would doubt very much that the genuine F part would fit either.
Barry username Mario was going to try to get them made, but not done as yet to my knowledge.
Carbon fibre wrap may be the way to go.

Could they be taken off and dipped ?
I have had just about every piece of visible plastic inside and out Hydro dipped in carbon fibre.
It looks mint (If I may say so myself)

The carbon fibre rear panel was an addition to the car and not a swap for a non-CF part. In fact it required the rear of the body to be modified to make it fit, so unfortunately there is no panel to take off and dip.

If you are truly looking for that extra bit of bling, 3M 3d carbon fibre wrap would be the best way, once professionally wrapped get it clear coated with several layers of laquer. I may get mine done once it's painted.

Well, I'm into the 11th year of the project, could it be ready for Stoneleigh 2020, doubt it. The longest DNA build ever

Yeah guess I will just go with 3m wrapped or maybe tackle making a overlay carbon piece this winter.
