Carbon ceramics
« on: May 24, 2018, 09:02:28 AM »
Hi,

I am really chuffed to have completed the new rear carbon ceramic brake discs and calipers.
I think they look great.
Hopefully the big front ones will be on by next week.

Thanks to Madman for his help and advice !

Those are beautiful, I need some.

I’m currently referbing my ( replica) brakes.  Please, please tell me.  Where did you get/make them.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Hi,
I purchased the discs from Barry at Mario Motors, I refurbished and painted the calipers......... although you can buy fake Brembo calipers on ebay. They are from China and come in various colours.
The transfers are again off ebay from a chap in Isreal, excellent quality and only around £10 including postage for 3 fronts and 3 rears.
Hope that helps
OXO

I’m not sure how long the BREMBO calliper covers will be around on eBay for :

The discs are superb.  I am currently in the process of making FG calipurrs similar to the original DNA ones fitted to the West Coast.   If anybody else wants one or a set PM me.

Yes, Brian does know and is OK with it.  They will only be available to those with DNA cars and some of any excess income will go to the Air Ambulance.  Don’t know if they will fit other models, you’ll have to ask Brian.

Lee.  DNA cars do not have calipurr covers, they do not cover the existing calipurr so do not cause a cooling problem.

Really Mick  :o

I thought the calliper covers were connected to the original Mr2 callipers, and makes the breaking efficiency 50% better than the normal callipers  ::)

I was concerned that having these on the car would make my callipers over heat ——— NOT..!

Come on Mick, do you think we are idiots on this forum....
I only posted a link that BREMBO put on Facebook to say they are looking at LEGAL reasons of copywrite for why they are trying to take them off sale......

I have not said anywhere anything about having these Stuck on the MR2 callipers..!

Whatever your drinking in the day mate, lay off it... it’s fuzzing your ability to think  ;D

Lee.   I know that DNA owners are not idiots but a lot of people read these posts not just the owners so it’s sometimes best to explain what we are up and why.   All of the builds are similar but differ in detail, and it’s that difference that is so interesting.   No offence was meant and I hope none was taken.

I don’t take offence Mick to anything anyone writes or says, as I have learnt the hard way, that life is too short.

Plus, for me, there is no such thing as ‘being offended from what others say’...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and ‘freedom of speech’... and if you don’t like what someone has said, ignore it, get over it, or don’t listen....

So no offence on my side, Mick, and I’m sure you have not taken anything I’ve writen to heart either  :D

I’m surprised caliper covers result in imprisonment. Certainly would never happen in Oz. It’s a commercial infringement not criminal for starters. But it’s not even regarded as passing off as they’re not fake calipers but only covers. Helen Keller could tell the difference! Seizure due to copyright infringement and possibly a fine would be all that could happen here.

Seriph.    You’re showing you’re age now.   I think more know and refer to Steve Wonder than HK.
