headlight conversion
« on: August 03, 2013, 02:46:39 PM »
Can anyone please advise on swopping headlights for export to EU. Is it a tricky job, and is it expensive?

Perhaps I'm wrong but aren't the existing headlights adjustable to suit either RHD or LHD?

You may be right! Would imagine they are the same?

I think it's just a matter of adjustment.
Could get the buyer to take it to his local garage and set them up himself, than they know it's correct.
Would only cost a few Euros I would image.

Cheers Rudy, will let her know. She is just waiting on a shipping quote to Holland. :)

Queasy, the buyers cheapest option would probably be to drive the car over. Holland is really easy to drive to direct from Harwich or Sheerness (night crossing). If you prefer you can go Dover to Calais then drive up through Belgium, its a quick and easy journey with no toll roads. I regularly used the Dover/Calais route to Holland in the past (before Sat Nav) and it was straightforward with no dramas.
If the buyer particularly wants the car collecting by a freight forwarder try these people:-

If they can't help I'm sure they'll know a man who can!

Cheers mate, will let the buyer know she has joined the site so hopefully she will see it anyway. Just had a very funny moment. The guy delivering my curry asked if I could take some pics of him with the car. Didnt have the heart to say it was'nt real!  :)

Hahaha, it's funny. But when I got to one of the shows, I took a look at all the other replicas, MR2 Kits and what not, and then I was like Ohh, DNA. Let's take a look at the real ones. They do in fact look so identical to the real deal.

Glad you're selling it, it's the perfect set up I'd like but just not got the money at this stage.

I'd be interested in what Lambo you get if you do :)

I have to admit I still get a buzz from the stares you get, which is why I wont go back to regular cars again (bmw z4, porsche boxster, etc...) The car isnt sold until the exchange has taken place, not gonna start counting my chickens yet! Besides I'm holding it for them until October anway. As for the next purchase not entirely decided, but its gonna be a nice pre xmas gift from me to me  ;D
