I just received a pic of the MG lens,from behind. Definitely can't simply remove and polish the reflector off.

I have had a brainwave (okay, maybe not)  -  perhaps I could remove the reflector lens from the bottom of the MGB taillights and ADD a clear reversing light lens, then trim the join with a chrome strip....?

I will try to do a mock up of the idea in the next day or so

Did a mockup  -  they look far too modern and break up the lovely long red lens too much  -  think I will go the US route and fit Type 3 VW lenses or get lenses made like on Dock Green's vehicle.
