water trapped in doors!!
« on: March 28, 2013, 06:01:02 PM »
for a change i turned the stereo of while driving through town, and had the window down. Then I noticed it; the unmistakable sound of water sloshing about inside the door! the car was washed last week (jet washer used). I can only assume its  trapped between the old ford door and the new skin. Anyone else had same problem and if so how did you solve it? :'(

Not had the problem but a couple of small drain holes drilled on the bottom edge would cure it!

I allways drill holes in the bottoms of my doors to drain any water, and make it lighter and faster ;D

If you want a hand let me know. I would do three holes on each door and put some rubber grommets to finish them off. I don't know what others would advise.
Sent you pm.

As above, one centre, one at each end approx 3/16'' diameter.
Wouldn't bother with Grommets tho',leave them open to stop further build-up,like factory doors.

Likewise, but I would not fit grommets, as top of grommets will hold water from exiting panel. Call down I,ll drill em for you, no worries,
I,m up for a pint anytime

Hi John how you doing..  There are holes already in the bottom of the door they are probably blocked with dirt... So all you need to do is poke a screw driver in the hole and let the water drain....
