Registration and Insurance?
« on: February 20, 2013, 10:19:11 PM »
Hi all how do you guys go about have your kitcar register and insured in the usa, I know in the uk it's not as hard but here in the states there's more whoops you have to jump thought to get it done right?

Once I get the dn8 I would like it to be insured right and heard you have to have it register as a kit car with different VIN # so it can be insured properly? Any info would be a great help..

Mike,

For legal advice on law, rules and regulations, get unlimited access to attorneys to ensure you do it right, for $17/month @ www.My247LawFirm.com

But as far as I understand, VIN does not change. This is not a kit car, but a body kit.

Insurers would need to know of modifications, as it will affect the value, othgerwise in a totaledsituation, you may get the $5k value of the basic car.
