Rudy's Build Thread
« on: November 24, 2012, 03:24:07 PM »
Hi Guy,
Thought I'd share a few pics with you.
Car before I started dismantling it.
Prep work.
New brakes with Vented, grooved and drilled discs.
New 7" Screen fitted with Sub under dash and front and rear speakers.
Sound deadening on inside and outside of panels.
New centre console fitted with Savage switches for front PCS and Hazard. All working finally. The hazard was a b-tch to wire up.
Engine bay all done. Engine serviced and 4 branch manifold fitted (no pre cats).
All ready waiting for kit which I should be getting on Thursday.  :)

Great start, car looks tidy. Is that a sound deadening material you've applied to the doors?

Nice centre console too!

Fun part about to start then, prepare to get dusty. Lol.

Looking forward to watching your build Rudy and will maybe see you in a week or so.

Beany ;D

Hi Madman
Have a great holiday and let me know when you're back and come over one evening.

Hi Beany
Yes ready for the next stage.
Sound deadening on doors inside and out. Should help with the finished feel and better for the speakers.
Glad you like the console. A little different but once covered with a mix of carbon fibre and leather it should look good. I hope.
Let me know when you can come over. PM me and I will forward you my address and tel.
Look forward to seeing you and THE BEAST!

Mate, in an ideal world!

There is always something to scupper the best laid plans, huh? I've a narrow window of opportunity to collect the car now as I've got to go back to the hospital with Sue on the 10th December and really need to put some time in at work along the way too.

Still, there is no set date yet. We'll see.

Rudy, will pm when I have a collection date.

Beany ;D

The noise level is not bad with the roof down as most of it is air born exhaust sound (sounds good)
With the roof up so is the noise level.  I think it's cos the roof deadens the noise when it's in it's storage area and that's the area I am looking at.

Roland advised me against fitting the tubular manifold as it raises the sound level but I look forwards to your opinion on weather it's worth it or not.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Hi Furrari
I will let you know as soon as I fit the DNA system to it. I want to fit this ASAP as I'm keen to see what it will sound like.
Re rear storage area. I'm thinking of covering all of that in the same material. Cannot hurt I suppose.

I heard yours at the show and it sounded great. Nice rumble. I'll be happy if mine sounds the same.

Does the tubular system give you any more power?
