Detling Show 2009

The start show of the year (and my "home" show). I'm told that this year it's on the 12/13th April which is Easter Sunday and Monday. OK that's a few months off, but hey that gives plenty of time to prepare and plan to attend it. I'm planning for my 360 to be completed by then and be at the show. With any luck we can persuade Madman to bring his 430 along.... Who else thinks they might be there? What do we reckon about camping and a BBQ?

                I,ll be there with a bit of luck 430 as well. hows your 360 going? still giving you big smiles no doubt.
BBQ sounds good, time for the £5 plus vat special to have an airing, wil it be rigger weather?  8)

i cant wait for this show, i never been before even though im in maidstone which is only a few miles away!. I been interested in this kitcar scene for about a year but I always been holding back on getting one as never seen or heard one up close. hhhmmm i think after the show i shall be more than convinced in ordering one!

aak1203, you realise that this means I expect you to come and introduce yourself at the show. (Also it means that you'll have NO excuse for not buying a kit - there's a reason that my build thread is "South-East build"! - extra support may be closer than you think.)
Keep watching this thread, as more details will emerge as to what we are doing at the show. We've been known to have a BBQ .... So if you've only got the A249 to travel, you've just got to be there.

Well, I'm actually going to leave that to them to answer. However, the last I heard was yes! I figure if I'm going to go to shows around their part of the country to support them, then perhaps they ought to make it down to Detling ;)

I'm expecting MADMAN down as well in his brand new 430 - so there's going to be some DNA cars to have a look at.

430 will be there, if I can get enough time on it, still plenty of work to do but all good fun. fingers crossed I will make it.
So long as its driveable I will be there, finished or not. aint a lot of room for tools and parts to continue working at show.  ;D

So, who's coming?

Thoughts on camping (and a BBQ?)?

Madman are you turning up in your new toy? - I know there's no prizes for guessing its colour!

Let's get some ideas, please.

(Mine's in for an MOT today, but all being well I'm going to be there!)

never been to kitcar show before and especially looking forward to seeing a 4thirty.

Got no excuse really as i live a few miles away!

Hey tenpin my riggers are red! guess where from!
It,s looking doubtful for me at Detling, but I wont say no, if I can get some more time in garage, who knows.
BBQ sounds good even though it is aprox 240 miles away, £5 plus vat special is ready and waiting.
all I can say is I,m trying my best.

Hi Madman, I guess the riggers are that colour because you came hot foot from spraying (otherwise it could have been cold feet from spraying it blue!  ;D  ;D )

My car passed its' MOT, so there's only just a few more things to do and then .....

Actually the biggest problem that I may have is - how to fit the tent in the car?

Show details:

Show open 10 - 5 both days - Admission £10 adults and £2 child 12yrs and under
Venue - Kent County Showground, Detling nr Maidstone ME14 3JF

As for tent, I think we,ve  been here before, looks like you fiting a towbar and getting a trailer. On the other hand, how about a £5 plus vat special? ;D

You know, there really doesn't seem to be that many takers for this show from the Owner's Club! Perhaps I missed the replies? Or is everyone based up north? Am I the only southerner? Perhaps no-ones got a completed car to bring?

Anyway, if anyone's reading this and they've yet to take the plunge and buy a kit... Why not come along have a look, ask all sorts of questions, maybe even introduce yourselves and we'll be happy to talk to you. Otherwise it could get boring (what at a kit car show?) manning the stand all day for two days!
