Ferrari 250 GT by another kit car company
« on: September 22, 2017, 04:33:49 PM »
Hi guys found another company doing 250

Their website is nubodi.co.uk

They do a convertible which is call koupe and a coupe call kalifornia

If you look at the Coupe and go to Stirling Moss part 1 there is lots of useful information on bits and pieces for the car. and if you go to part 2 it is all the interior which will be quite helpful as you can't get the bits and pieces from DNA anymore hope this helps if any of you are still building them all the best John James

Nubodi is just a build agent. They are made by Tribute Automotive and you can deal direct. Tribute makes an amazing dash for the 250.

Thanks Jaguartvr for letting me know about tribute Autos.

The reason I've mentioned about the build agent was there was pictures and details about the cars which gives people ideas about what to do anyway keep up the build of 250 GT                    J J

I have seen a couple of Tribute cars recently.  One was a 275GT (coupe body) at Knebworth.  Dreadful.  Panel gaps, at best, variable from correct to about 16mm.  Panels wavy.
The second was a 250GT Coupe at the Manchester show.  Fantastic.  Panel gaps as good as DNAs.  Not a ripple anywhere.  Still had the Z3 dash but had bespoke luggage.
Presumably it's, as usual down to the builder.

I'm a bit biased as I judge kit cars by the DNA standard, so if the 275 is your car I'm sorry but it didn't compare with the one from Manchester.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

The Tribute kits aren't Californias ( DNA only) and you won't get one now. If you do it will be big bucks. They make a tribute to the 250 swb and a convertible that was never offered. I personally prefer the shape of the
250 swb convertible (but then I would!). It also doesn't have the controversial beer shelf.

The Tribute kits are a lot cheaper than the DNA kits but are nowhere near as well finished. The final panel gap and finish of the bodywork is down to the builder rather than the manufacturer.
There have been some god awful builds and some to rival (almost) DNA.

I would still love the new DNA Speedster if it ever becomes available as a kit, looks superb and I love the fact that it isn't a replica.
