430 seats.
« on: March 08, 2017, 09:47:31 PM »
Does anyone have fibreglass headrests they might want to sell, or any other parts/kit that could be used to put seats together?

I'm open to suggestions?

There's no panic as I can survive with the MR2 seats I have for the moment, but want to start getting the interior parts together.

I assume no luck with DN8 seats? By far one of the best ones I think.

Hi R.

The pics of DN8 seats look brilliant, but I've not seen any fitted to a 430, and I've tested the dimensions of similar looking seats on the car. The headrest area fitting into the rollbar cover always seems to be vert tight.

I'll give Brian a call to see if he has a view?

The Mr2 seats require special attention when being built to mimic the 430 seats, the rollbar grp section prevents the seats going all the way back, take a look at some of the 430 builds at Stoneleigh.
I've spoken to the guy who's going to do my interior, between us we'll build the seats with this in mind, my job will be to alter the metal frame to accommodate the indent, the seat foam contour will then pad around that area.

Well, I'm into the 11th year of the project, could it be ready for Stoneleigh 2020, doubt it. The longest DNA build ever

Thanks D.

Stoneleigh will help me with information on many fronts - me thinks. I'm really looking forward to it.

Has anyone ever tried fitting real 430 seats to the 4thirty?

if you speak to Mark 360mkbuild, He's put in a set of 360 seats, if they fitted, then I would presume that 430's would fit, BUT the mr2 is smaller so the seats may be problematic when slid back against the kit.

Yep genuine 360 seats do fit. (and been done on a fair few cars in the past) I have had to make the runners part MR2 part ferrari though. I have been told electric seats wont fit but mechanical do. Once fitted the seats fit snugly into the roll bar carrier and the runners work perfectly. Took some setting up though. I have seen on ebay in the past DNA430 cars for sale but fitted with 360 seats. I think its down to the high cost of used 430 seats, they aint cheap. If you manage to get your hands on a set go for it, can always sell on if any issues

Thanks for the advice fellas.

I was aware Mark had got originals, and they look superb.

I'll enjoy seeing what interiors are on display on Sunday - my first Stoneleigh.
