« on: January 16, 2017, 04:32:20 PM »
Just been quoted by footman james £723 for myself age 58 and the wife age 55 on a west coast hmmm don't think so,no convictions or anything bad on licences and i thought they were a fair company as i have been with them on numerous occasions for motor insurance even got my vintage cars with them.Think i will look elsewhere.

Just phoned Adrian Flux, why is it that company's say they are specialists  and then you get someone who does not know what you are on about it's really frustrating and why do some say kit cars do not require your no claims discount and others say they do?.even had some say oh we don't cover kit cars when they advertise that they do,ever felt like you want to hang yourself.

That seems very high.  Try contacting Dan at AF, he's our contact man there.

Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

I found the cheapest was A-Plan.

It seems that prices and experiences vary widely.  DG uses A Plan.  A Plan wouldn't even quote me when I approached them.  Said they didn't insure cars of that value.  Peter James came back with a silly price.
It looks like the first problem is finding somebody who knows what they are on about.

Hi Mick my name is John James,

I have a West Coast which is a Mercedes SL 55 made in 2006 I am 69 this year, My car insurance Is with footman James it has A agreed valuation of

£46,500 it is insurance as a classic kit car they wouldn't take my no claims bonus which is good as on my daily runabout also I get 10% discount for
belonging to a car club ( not DNA car club ) when you phone up don't talk to any Muppet your needs to speak to Dan, he is in charge of the kit car

insurance really nice guy and he only charged me £328 pound for the year,
With limited miles of 5000 which is not bad anyway good luck with your insurance.                        8) 8)         JJ
Drive it like you stole it

Hi,

I'm sorry you were disappointed in the service you received from ourselves. From time to time it can be necessary to over flow phone calls into other parts of the business to keep hold times down for customers. Whilst not every member of staff may have the exact knowledge of a specific vehicle they will have access to supervisors / team leaders who would be able to assist in quoting the risk correctly. Did we actually provide you with a quotation?

Regards,
Dan.

A-Plan was a very similar cost for my 2Fifty. But that was on an unlimited mileage basis. I live in a low crime area (which helps)
