Hi.Dock Green
It was nice to see the pictures of the Ferrari Daytona a friend of mine built a southern roadcraft spider replica in 1982, it had Jaguar running gear the kit was sold with a subframe and complete bodywork, it was sprayed black and his name was John Johnson, which was quite funny at the time because Don Johnson used to drive one in the 80s TV show Miami Vice,

what I can remember it was quite wide can't see how it would fit a BMW Z3, it would be really nice to see a finish one it will bring back lots of memories. Keep up the good work John James
Drive it like you stole it

Quick question for you guys.
Rubber - what do you think is best.
15 inch Original (front of car in image)
18 inch (rear of car in image)

Providing the wheel arches are the right size so the wheels fill the wheel arches it doesn't matter.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Aren't the two wheelbases very different?

The mags are nice too but brutal. Way back when, my boss had them replicated which cost PLENTY but were still far less than the originals

This was his beastie. Apologies if I've posted previously

Love the daytona what are you having as the donor car and are you going for the pop up head lights or Plexiglass.

I know this question will make many eyes roll.. but Mort will know I appreciate the complexities of designing, prototyping and building.

But ...

Have meaningful conversations been had around affordably replicating other great marques? I'm meaning cars like the early iconic BMW convertibles, Mercedes, etc.

Reason I ask is because there are quite a number of breathtaking but lesser-known vehicles that have never been replicated. I'm not saying to anyone 'why don't you ...' or 'I think you dhould ...' I'm just asking if those with the clear ability to do so, might be considering them

Hi - I have a list of recreations I would like to do. The Daytona just happened to fall 1st as an SRV12 body was available. The main issue is finding a suitable donor (unless you want to start building frames, with all the headache that creates).

Take the Miura for example, OK obvious, but that would be near the top of my list if I could find a suitable donor. Open to suggestions.

If it was me i would stick with the daytona with the pop up headlights just love them, i did look at buying a Daytona replica from america based on the corvette but all the hassle that came with it put me off plus it's a long way off if your stitched up photo's can be made to look great but in the flesh can be totally different. There's going to be a lot of head scratching with the Daytona though rather you than me but i hope you do manage it.
