Real Headlights ? Worth it... Fitment?
« on: December 30, 2015, 05:05:40 AM »
Hey guys.... Curious had a decent price of $700 for a pair of Oem headlights. First would fitment even be doable on a kit and mounting? Would it even be worth it?  Should just stick with light assembly kit comes with? Of course oem would be best quality. Not sure if anyone has attempted oem lights on 5cudo or 4thirty... Anyone? Your view?

Wow, $700 seems cheap for a pair...??
The cheapest I've ever seen a pair on eBay, where £1800 ($2600)

Not sure if they will fit though.. Not heard about any one trying to be honest.

But at that price, I'd be tempted to buy them and put them on eBay at higher price..... ;D

I have often thought about it but as lee says, they are silly money

In terms of mounting them I'm sure we could find a way but the issue is the shape I think. The real ones I think are slightly thinner and pointier than the DNA ones.

So for people who've already built their cars and painted them it's really not worth it even if you can get a set for reasonable money. Reshaping the headlight holes and repainting the car is a mod too far even for me lol!

I will find a photo to show what I mean

See below. I think the real ones seem to have more of a point

A blast from the past Paul, my previous 430 spider GY54SZG the one that was featured in kit car magazine.
I would be surprised if the OEM one,s fit, but you never know, as said before though, at that price buy them try them if they dont fit sell them on ebay probably double your money ;) ;)

Yeah $700 is cheap, and they are in mint condition. I haven't purchased my 5cudo kit just yet hence why I was asking and debating on real oem fitting. Might be worth a shot.

Yes that's very cheap but I'm sorry to say they won't fit in a 5cudo (cougar based) Dna.Space is very tight

Good to know, the YouTube video seems like very tight space was my worry. I passed on them to spend money else where
