My cars going in on Thursday to get the electric roof fixed £60 for the initial hour , if they can fix it within that time frame then that's the only price to pay

Friday I got a stereo to be fitted, my cars battery has been of and on so many times , the radio need a code for it to work
Tipically the code I have isn't the right one , after driving 1.5 hrs from Dna to London without any music got mind numbing
I bought a caliber vintage cd radio , I'll let you know what's it like on Friday

Side note , I bought my car off eBay blind for £2,200
It's had now over £1000 spent on it
Next time I will invest more time and money in sourcing a donor

I like the Caliber in chrome, looks retro but with modern features....like USB input.

On your side note; I bought my donor for 5k (knocked down from 6k)....now I admit it was only one owner from new and low (for the year) milage, and from the wad of bills I got with it the main dealer must have rubbed his hands every time the poor bloke took it in for something....so it has been well looked after and he spent a lot on maintaining it.

BUT, the difference between 5k and 3.2k is still a hefty lump of change, so I don't know what's best really. I think I paid over the odds, but I haven't had any bother, but you took a gamble and, even though you have had a spot of bother, you will still have paid less than me.

Like I say, I don't know what's best ::)

Took my car to Cayman autos in dorking today
They found the fault but they also found another electrical fault in the hood
Only had time for an hour , so it's booked in on 1st July to have them both fixed

They didn't charge me anything for it either, they were a bit surprised to see me pull up , within 5 mins three people Came over to get a good look

I would recommend these guys
They only do convertible roof repairs and they know Mercs sl's very well also !
Caliber radio being fitted tomorrow

Had my electric roof fix this week , to be honest it doesn't make much difference weather you got a manual roof or electric
You have to unclip the roof locks and move the hood quite far back before the micro sensor kicks in and retracts.

Also got the text from kitcar magazine yesterday for the article in hopefullys next months mag
