Rippin6Gear's USA 5cudo Build
« on: July 26, 2015, 09:35:37 AM »
Well time has come for my slow build process.... Got my cougar slowly prepared for my DNA kit. Got the most important things getting done this month.

*all new suspension, solid aluminum subframe mounts, control arms, poly filled mounts, sway bars, air strut bag suspenion, end links, engine resealed, fully built mtx-75 with THM keyed shift tower, lightweight flywheel, upgraded clutch, new stainless weapon-r headers & y-pipe, and more little bits I'm sure I forgot to mention.

*Got started on cutting the rear spare well out to add a flat sheet of metal, and relocating my large optima yellow top dry cell battery to the trunk.

Slowly getting little things checked off the list... There is a ton of items to do for prep.

Not taking any chances, changed wheel studs to ARP race studs over the weekend. No chance of shearing off now.
Picking up some more welding wire for trunk battery relocation tomorrow morning.
Some more air ride suspension parts to assemble this week.

Trunk panel done... Still finishing air ride assembly and running air lines to all four corners.

Still debating on silver, red, or black needles for the gauge cluster...

Today was my birthday, not a huge update on the car.
Got a new 2.5" dual stainless borla exhaust system installed on the cougar, plan on using the y section from DNA from there up to the exit tips. Finishing the rear air ride setup as the fronts are installed and tested.

Well looks like the build might be dead... Brian at DNA replied back to me and the 5cudo has been discontinued for some time.
(Hence probably why I haven't seen any recent build threads on any forum sites).
Still waiting to hear back from him on partial pieces of the kit. Guess I waited too long...

Very pleased for you, and glad there's another build on the go.
If it doesn't fit first time, use harsh words...!

Thanks, can't wait for it to show up. Going to a lot of long sleepless nights.

So I found a picture of the DNA supplied exhaust kit, since I can't get it can anyone give me the specs off the exhaust tips that are used? Mostly looking for diameter and the length of the L shaped Tips...

Little update after talking with Brian... going without Wheels for the kit and getting a custom set(unsure on what ones just yet, have a long ways to pick and choose).

Got a set of OEM lights, so going to try modify to fit once the kit arrives... worse case I resell the lights for a profit if unable to come up with a solution on mounting. Pretty sure I will make them work some how, some way!

They will probably take a fair amount of work to make them fit, but well worth the effort
