Rear brake covers
« on: July 22, 2015, 05:54:29 PM »
I've got a big brake upgrade on the front and the DNA disc covers on the rear. But the 360 wheels are quite an open design and you can easily see that there is not much meat on what is meant to be the disc so I decided to add some "meat". I wanted to add some thickness so I needed something light and easy to work and bond. I bought some nylon 10.00mm chopping boards which I then made into sections that I could work to the correct shape plus drill holes in to match the disc cover. I have added some photos so you can see the process.
Has to be V6 power and SERIOUS NOISE !!!!!!

I like this idea, nice work Andy! I still need to sort discs out for the car and can't decide which type to go for but I like this addition :)

I looked at this idea for my West Coast but there isn't room at the front for the thickness of the disc I wanted.  I was going to do it 3/4" (20mm) thick and drill the edge with some rows of 3mm holes in the edge to simulate cooling holes.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

I bought some fancy brake disc clocks and modified them on my last car, the F355 replica. Meaty thickness too. Enjoyed playing with them. Have ordered a set of the lovely Carbon look ones for my 360 now.
