Mods to Engine cover
« on: March 02, 2015, 06:54:26 PM »
I recently posted about cutting off the power steering pot and redoing it. I also wanted to do something with the bit that sits in front of what is meant to be the radiator and has the silver Ferrari cap on it. I think its the expansion tank for the rad. Anyway I wanted it too look more "factory" and look a bit more "machined" if that makes sense..... ??? I had previously removed the silver cap and added a threaded rod to the underside that went through the cover and was held in place on the underside of the cover with a nut. Cap removed I then found something that fitted perfectly over the black fibreglass base. I drilled a hole through the centre of it so the silver cap could be fitted. It still wasn't what I wanted but I then remembered the Audi TT vent I had bought and I reused the stainless bezel from that. The silver cap fitted perfectly inside the bezel... ;D . While I was there I added a couple of black fuel pipes to the MAFS for added effect.... :D  see pics....
