Cheapest DNA 430 ever.
« on: July 21, 2014, 06:09:57 PM »
White DNA 430 convertible.
30,000 miles,
New clutch
Recently services
Based in London near Heathrow.

Hi all,  as you would have seen I've recently brought a DNA 430 convertible.  Being I've been out driving every minute for the past few days and absolutely love the attention with everyone taking pictures/waving, but I've struggling with 2 things, the first being the 1.8 engine.  I know myself and will end up putting in a V6 woodsport conversion in which will cost in the region of £6-7k so rather invest this in a V8 California.  The second thing is im a big lad and its not the most easiest car to get in and out.

If the car sells, I will buy a Califonia, if it doesn't sell I keep the car, and do the Woodsport conversion.

It does need some work done as the panels need lining up, arches pushed back, paint could do with some touch up, and the roof needs sorting. This is not alot of work, and there is excellent potential for who wants a DNA for a very cheap price. I will start doing the wheel arches this week if I get time.

Offers in region of £14,000

PM if interested.

Wow,  not even a single response.  How about if i sweeten the deal.

£12,500

If not then it may be off to a well known auction site (but I rather it stays here).

Don't know weather to say well done or sorry about that.

See you at Donnington.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

It's definitely well done. The car is going to look fantastic once I'm sure. Just working on a few details to make the car stand out.

Do I put striped on the car, or not...! This Is going to be a hard decision.

I went to see that car, a 16m 430. The pearlescent looked 'dirty' under the showroom lights.
To make it sleeker looking they painted the side skirts/sills black. The italia stripe represents an event in Ferrari's racing history or something...

Well, I'm into the 11th year of the project, could it be ready for Stoneleigh 2020, doubt it. The longest DNA build ever

Mine will be pure white,

Considering the italian strips & black skirts. Any thoughts on this?

I think you've made the right decision. I have had mine for a few years now, longer than I would usually keep a car. I look at it and think, why would I want to sell it? I still think the DNA 4Thirty is the best looking replica out there.
I'm sure you will think carefully about any changes you make to the car but be careful not to Chav it up.

I think you need to plan the whole look of the car. I have stripes on mine but it took me a long time looking at different options, do I or don't I, etc.
At the end, the best way is to look at pictures of the real thing and the options that were available for the respective model.
I took my inspiration from the 16M Scuderia look, even though the front bumper etc. are different. The next stage if you do go for any stripes is to make sure you get the proportions correct. I was very careful with making sure the width and angles of the stripes look good.
All in all its your choice but do your research.
Worst scenario, you change your mind and you can take them off. So do not spray them on.
I also saw the car in question and I think if you like that overall look, than it was OK, but its not everybody's choice of finish. Me included. Look at Beemaman's stripes on a white DNA430 Spider and I think you need to go a long way to beat that look. Sporty, classy, not OTT, best of all worlds, in my opinion.
Good luck with your decision.
