Info / Re: DNA westcoast rear window
« on: July 28, 2018, 12:59:05 PM »
Hi All

I have managed to get the window fixed a new motor/regulator was required, if anyone should have to get this done on their westcoast you will have to have the bodywork trimmed by the window to allow the rear quarter window to come out as it comes out from the top.
A massive thank you to Wayne from Beemabuild who not only trimmed and made it good afterwards but also found a garage that would carry out the window motor replacement as it seems that some garages are put off wanting to do the work because it has the bodykit on it (we tried 2 merc garages first who would not do it).
Anyway it is now all working as it should and you can not tell that the rear wing had been trimmed and then made good again although it took about 3-4 weeks what with the other garages having the car then saying that they could/would not do it, i hold back from naming them but if you have to have this done then make sure the garage will and can do it.

Info / DNA westcoast rear window
« on: July 02, 2018, 04:30:22 PM »
Hi

I have got a rear quarter window motor gone on my sl500 westcoast ,i have taken it into WDM Mercedes garage and they have had a look and say that the window has to come out to replace the motor as its all in one but the rear wing that is part of the bodykit is in the way as the window has to come out from the top and the new rear wing is stopping it so my question is does anyone know how the wing comes off or has anyone replaced the motor with the bodykit on.

Next question is is there anyone who can do this for me even if the wing has to come off i just need it doing.

Dont know where else to go from here so any help is much appreciated.

Thanks Mike (Montman)

Had a nice day at the show was nice to see Lee and Steve and have a chat about all things cars related, went up in mine but got directed to the other car parks which did not really bother us but would have been nice to have supported both the 430's.The show and Clumber park was really interesting although a bit too hot to walk everywhere brought back many a memory for me and the wife of our American car show days must try and get to more of them.On another note you would not believe the idiots who want to race on the way home all 75 miles of it then again i was that young once.

Yes beemaman have been riding since early 1970's it's my first love got up to championship level and rode in quite a few. This event was planned last year ,have 2 Internationals coming up  that we organize and run as well. The track is in Penkridge,we have a marquee with a live band and bar at these big events well it's big for a local motorcross event, riders from all over Europe attend the Internationals.

Cars are a very close second as i have had quite a few nice ones when i was younger that were very quick, raced them at santa pod and around the silverstone track when we were invited down also around the streets of B'ham when they had the super Prix, even around streets of Coventry when they used to shut the streets off and have a possession of cars go around.

There's always next years show it's about what   12 months away?.

So you see motocross and cars it's a tough decision when both dates collide.

Unfortunately a National motocross event i organised and ran meant i could not get there although i wanted to.
Would have been good to have met up with people i have only spoke to on the phone, when and where is there another event that club members go to.

How funny is this, i have just gone out in it and it worked perfect in fact the window is working quicker than its ever done since i have had the car.

Can not fathom it out as i had tried and checked all sorts to get it to work over the 2 weeks it has not worked, bloody merc electrics for you.

West Coast chat / Rear quarter light window
« on: March 25, 2017, 05:48:36 PM »
Hi all
rear quarter light window not working, wont go up or down on the switch or when operating roof so roof will get so far but then stop as window is up.I can hear a click when trying it on the door switch but window won't go down, does not move at all,is there anything other than maybe a knackered window motor.

Thanks Mike.
Car is Merc sl500 2002 west coast.

If they want people to notice the car because of the exhaust note then i can think of a lot more things on this car that would have people saying WOW look at that car, anyone can get a car to sound loud not everyone can get a car to look like this though.

Hmm Exhaust note recording while i can sort of understand it i don't think that would or should be the deciding factor (if it is)when buying a car of this nature, well for me it wouldn't or maybe i am old no ish about it with me,at the moment feel like 105 damn virus.
