Sorry mate, I have kept the original mirror because I was afraid a period one might suffer from scuttle shake vibrations.

Jez

I suggest it might be a good start to go to a garage that can plug into the car and read the fault codes. When my central locking was playing up it helped me a lot to narrow it down....there were fuses blown that I did not even know were related to the problem...or that they had blown.

If you have not had them read for a while be prepared....mine took about 20 minutes and the printout was looong.

Maybe a fuse from a different system...like the "comfort" system (which I believe can put the hood up remotely, and the windows....could be wrong there though) but sometimes the interactions between seemingly un-associated systems can be baffling.

Although, having said, that the window issue sounds like an earthing problem

Hope you get it sorted.

The factory fitted chrome window surround looks great, no denying it ....but there is a reason that DNA used chrome stick on strips. On the original cars the chrome strip that runs up the front of the window was actually part of the door and therefore opened with the door.

The use of two chrome strips in this area is for two reasons; to replicate this feature of the original (although obviously only with the door shut) and to give the impression that the windscreen surround in this area is thinner than it actually is ... again more like the original.

So you pays your money and takes your choice.

When you get your donor don't forget to take a photo of the vin plate....very difficult to see once you put the new body on as it disappears under the front wing.

You got the stalks if you bought the entire interior package. Unmodified means no change to length and indicators remain on the left,

Steering wheel is a; Nardi Classic 390mm (5061.39.3000) which requires a special boss and adapter plate to fit.

I fitted mine, un-modified and as supplied by DNA....they are quite long but when the bigger steering wheel is fitted they are fine...the original had two stalks by the way.

My bonnet has always had a minor problem, I think it may have been a little bit warped when it was pulled out of the mould, as it never sat down correctly on the bump stops...about 4mm out.

It was driving me mad because whatever adjustments I made the back end, near the screen, would "flutter" when driving along....really annoying.

So I finally had enough and decided to fit quick snap type bonnet pins either side. It was a bit sweat inducing, positioning them and drilling the bonnet, but managed to fit them in the same holes that were used by the bump stops.

It has worked out a treat, no flutter and much better bonnet fit, with just two small buttons to press before releasing the bonnet main catch (or after...it makes no difference) Super.

I know exactly what you mean about the weather. We went out, top down, on one of those 30 degree days, got stuck at road works for 30 minutes in full sun....forearms, because of holding the wheel, burnt to a crisp....not pleasant.
