Meets and Events / Newark Kit Car Festival 23rd & 24th July 2022
« on: February 08, 2022, 04:45:30 PM »
Our club site is booked, details to follow when I get confirmation etc.

Entry cost for kit car drivers is £5 this year.

Please PM me, or post on here if you are likely to be attending - in case I need to book a bigger site!

-----------------
Update 26 May

I've received a preliminary layout for the pitches at Newark and I've highlighted our pitch in the attached image.

NB
 - it is subject to change (I'll post any updates here.)
 - there is limited space on the site, so camping will NOT be allowed on the club pitches. I am told there will be dedicated camping area with shower blocks etc.

Meets and Events / Stoneleigh Kit Car Show 1st & 2nd May 2022
« on: February 08, 2022, 04:41:49 PM »
Sorry for lack of updates so far, but I'll keep this page updated when I get confirmations back from the organisers.

I have booked our site, which is likely to be in the same block as we have been over the last few years.

I had been hoping to have confirmed details on pricing for this year, because it has changed and the forms were contradictory.

However, they have decided to charge a £5 entry fee for drivers of kit cars this year. (This will be the first time drivers have had to pay entry in the 25 years Grosvenor have been running the show!)

Obviously, I'd also like to get an idea of the number of cars that will be attending.... Please PM me, or put a post on here. Thanks

Update 25-Mar-22

I've had confirmation that our pitch will be 59K (that's the same as last year). Though the normal caveats apply - it may change at short (or even no) notice due to unforeseen events, weather, state of the ground etc.
You may notice that this year the live evening entertainment is listed as being an outdoor event, opposite Hall 1.

Meets and Events / Stoneleigh Kit Car Show 28 & 29th August 2021
« on: July 11, 2021, 09:49:00 PM »
I've just received the booking forms for Stoneleigh from the organisers - I guess that as it was such a long time ago that they'd been filled in, they thought they ought to get a fresh set.
So, anyone care to guess how many cars we'll have there?
Or, better yet - who's likely to go?

Replies on here, or PM's to me are both acceptable...

Updated to shown latest club location plan for the show.

It looks like the show will be postponed, but there's been no official announcement as yet.

Grosvenor Shows who organise this show, also organise Quilt Shows and they have already rescheduled their 3 Counties Malvern show which was due to happen in mid-May.
The organisers are trying to find an alternative date later in the year.
Complete Kit Car magazine will still be publishing their guide to the show in their next edition, but they are suggesting that people hang on to the Stoneleigh guide for use later in the year.

I will update this thread as I get more details.

Meets and Events / Great Western Classic Car Show 8/9 Feb 2020
« on: November 09, 2019, 12:23:13 PM »

Following the Classic Vehicle Restoration Show, we have been invited to have a stand at this show. It's at the same venue (Bath & West Showground BA4 6QN) on the Sat & Sun 8/9 Feb 2020.
The format of this show is pretty much the same as the November show. We have a "stand" which is inside (either hall or marquee) which is heated (and it needs to be). We can get in on the Friday (or early Saturday morning), then the cars are left there until after the show closes on Sunday, though it may be possible to leave after the show on Saturday.
We've attended this show since Feb 2017 and had a lot of interest in our cars, especially the 2Fifty.

If you want to come you'll have to reply here or PM me, there's no set size for our stand as yet, but they're already allocating areas, so we need to let them know soon.
Who's interested?

Meets and Events / Newark Kit Car Festival 25th/26th July
« on: November 05, 2019, 12:41:01 PM »
No real details as yet, but it seems Grosvenor Shows (those who organise Stoneleigh) are going to add Newark as a new Kit Car show.
The dates are Saturday & Sunday the 25/26 July 2020.

As I find out more I'll post them here.

Meets and Events / Classic Vehicle Restoration Show 2/3 Nov 2019
« on: July 24, 2019, 06:20:40 PM »
The official title for this show is:
Footman James Classic Vehicle Restoration Show

Date:
  2nd/3rd November 2019, 09:30 to 16:00 each day
Location:
Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 6QN
Web:
   www.bristolclassiccarshows.com

This is not a kit car show as such, however, Complete Kit Car (CKC) magazine have booked one hall for kit cars - specifically for owners clubs.

If we want we can have a DNAOC stand in the hall, however:
 - space is limited
 - cars cannot leave the hall during show hours (but could leave overnight)
 - ideally same number of cars for each day, though could be different cars
 - needs to be a firm commitment to attend

We've done this show for the past few years and it's been fun, best of all considering the season it's inside AND there are heaters!

The organisers have just called me to see if we are going to attend. (They haven't even sent out the forms yet, but I've booked us a stand pending the forms arrival.)

So, let's see who wishes to attend.
