Title: VHT Wrinkle paint
Post by: Sir Percival on July 18, 2017, 12:58:56 PM
I have just sprayed the tops of my inner door cards with VHT wrinkle paint.

I am quite happy with the wrinkle effect....but not so happy in that the depth of black is not consistent, from spraying extra bits that had not quite wrinkled enough (as it says to in the instructions) you can see where the depth of spray is different even though the wrinkle effect is similar.

My question is; Can VHT wrinkle paint, itself, be overpainted. I would like to give it a light spray over with satin black, just to equalise the colour?????? I think I can, as it says it goes rock hard after 48 hours and can withstand 250 degrees.....so a coat of paint should be OK.

BUT does anyone know any different?????????

Sir P.
I've had this problem in the past and found trying to patch it only makes it worse.  Ended up sanding it all off and starting again.  Keeping the can further away from the surface you're spraying helps.

The problem is that unless you're use to using it it's hard to get it even.  For my engine cover I cheated, I got DNA to do.

Thanks Mick....I am thinking along the same lines....might just get some professionals to do it for me.
