General Chitchat / Dna website updated
« on: September 18, 2017, 07:37:18 PM »
Dnas new web site has been updated with a new product that will be produced and developed by Dna
It's been commissioned by someone who will be selling them via Dna
Dna will produce and develop cars for customers that might come to the market to be sold on mass ,
Some might be one offs ,some on limited numbers , it's up to the investor

Meets and Events / Ferrari passione silverstone
« on: September 06, 2016, 07:42:53 PM »
there's a Ferrari event at Silverstone on 23 and 24 September
it free on Friday and a £10 on Saturday
I've been to a couple of these and they are a great day out, you can get right into the pits and walk around all the cars
racing is full on and hearing the engines at full range is great,
there's no f1 cars this year I think ,but there should be fxx which is basically an f1 car anyway

might be cheeky and go in the California, but leave it in the car park right by the entrance

aving a misses , 2 kids and a dog I would like to have something a bit special to drive daily
Needs to have back seats and a boot
I was thinking of using an Alfa Romeo gt
Cheap doner, and rake of the windscreen looks good
Maybe a completely unique design not a replica of anything.but I was liking the Ferrari ff
But Iam no good at photoshop etc
Can anyone come up with any designs ?
This has potential to be made if the design works and do you think the market needs a design like this ?

Build Threads / dna new model 60's style
« on: November 12, 2015, 04:12:46 PM »

some info for you guys..
late last year there was an article in a kit mag about dna offering a design/ build service , come with an idea or a sketch and they can make it for you,
spoke to dna at a show a couple of months later and we agreed to do something
I like the old style ferraris , to me they are more timeless in design and you get a bit more acceptance from other car enthusiast than a modern car with a poor performance

my budget was strict so we banded about ideas and we settled on a Ferrari 250 California, ( ferris beuller car )
there was obvious constrictions,
1. the U.K. rules for cutting up a car
2. a single doner
3. my budget
so what evolved is the photos above so far, it's based on a bmw z3, reasons being
1. availability world wide
2. loads available cheaply , well in the uk anyway, I paid £800 for my doner car
3. range of engines from 1.9 - 3.0
4. tuning options are vast with aftermarket products a plenty

it was going to be a one off car for me only but as we went along interest was gathering and dna asked if I would sell kits
DNA were keen to try out new methods of producing and moulding cars which I was happy to let them get on with what they know best
using the new methods cut down the time by months so will make the cost of the kits to be the cheapest entry level DNA
and still get dnas excellent panels and fit and finish

Other kitcar chat / Car painting question
« on: May 21, 2015, 07:05:39 PM »
If a car is White already, and I would like to get it a lamborghini balloon White or pearl White
Would it help that it's White already?
Or does it need to be sanded right back and primed again

West Coast chat / Build times and costs
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:12:46 PM »
Browsing auto trader as you do ,telling myself to stay out of the mercedes section , I wander in and saw a sl500 near me for £6500, man maths and colour options started on my brain and trying to work out the costs
How much to fit the kit? If a garage or dna did it
Or if I did it how long ? That depends on how many hours a day on it etc
How much to get sprayed ,
Any ideas on these?
