4thirty Chat / Automotive Finesse - A slight change..!
« on: April 21, 2022, 05:40:58 PM »
Evening all, been a long time..!
It’s been a difficult last 2 years, I’ll not lie, with the COVID pandemic and lockdown..
We’ve found it partially hard personally with family, etc…

Anyway,  on a better not.. 2022

So a fair few of you know the car of mine, and know the history.

As you also know, once Wayne sold the car, it past through 2 other owners before falling into my hands, 8 years ago… OMG..!

Since then, a fair amount of work has been done on the car to bring this beauty back to the look she deserves.

So the chapter continues in 2022…….

In late Jan ‘22 Rudy and Merick from ‘Automotive Finesse’ came to the house to look at my car, with reference to taking it in to getting it polished, ceramic coated and basically detailed and looking sharp…. Both Rudy and Merick spotted a couple of cracks in the fibreglass and in particular, a very nasty chip in the top of the wing near the bonnet, where I believe a previous owner had placed a metal bracket to hold the bonnet down, instead of aligning the bracket on the bonnet correctly..!
Anyway, these were to be looked at at the same time, to see if anything could be done, with reference to ‘blowing them in’ without me seeing the work..!

So, the end of Feb’22 comes and the car goes to Doncaster, and is inspected, and I’m asked to go, to talk through the list of endless options I want to do to the car…. (Wow, professional isn’t the word..!)

Well, to cut a very long story.. the more we talked and looked at the car under the proper lights, and the more we did look, the more we found….!  It looked like the car had been washed with a scouring pad at some point, as the paint was in a shocking state, and there were more stone chips and cracks (once you start to look) than I first thought.
So Merick and Rudy set too, correcting the bodywork, chips, cracks, splits, you name it..!

It was a big decision to make, but I then decided that it was easier/cheaper to not have Merick blow in the areas, as there were just too many that had been repaired, so I bit the bullet and we went for it..!
The whole car has been completely repainted from front to back, and has had numerous coats of paint and of classic lacquer on it too.

I have lost count the number of times I have see the car in paint, then rubbed down, then gloss, then rubbed down again, then polished… ;D

The depth of the paint and gloss is insane..! Not to mention the flawless paint… not a mark to be seen anywhere..!

But to top it off, we decided to change the wheels for OZ superleggea ones BUT in the Ferrari 430 Oro Gold too.
And then, because the original stripe had to come off because of the painting, I decided (no easy thing to do) to go with the Italia stripes instead.

I hope you agree, the transformation is epic, and I’ll post some more picture at the weekend when I go to pick it up on Saturday at Automotive Finesse’s guest open day.

Sales and Wants / Wheels for sale
« on: April 15, 2022, 05:35:15 PM »
4 silver 430 with Ferrari badge wheels for sale.
These wheels have NOT been driven on, so can guarantee no cracks, buckles etc.

These have had tyres placed on them, and then removed, but not driven on.  Hence the reason you can see tyre weights.

Great for a spare set if you have the same wheels? Just in case you damage one of yours? As we all know how bad the roads are these days…!

The wheels are 19” by 8” wide, with a 35 offset and a 5x100 PCD

COLLECTION ONLY (will not ship, due to weight), from S43 Chesterfield, Derbyshire area.

£400 for the set. (Won’t split them), but that’s only £100 a wheel….

These were the wheels that were sold with the DNA kits when originally bought…

4thirty Chat / Couple of updates
« on: October 03, 2021, 08:38:11 PM »
Not been around for a while, sorry been busy with other things.

But..!

In the last couple of weeks the car has had a couple of changes

It’s had full BC coilovers added (a big thanks to Mark C and a good friend Steve who came over to give a hand, to speed up the process..)

Old white / blue single led side lights changed for the ‘rope light’

And just new rear arms to install now, as we noticed worn bushes when doing the suspension, so decided to get new arms with poly bushes already in them, so they can be quickly just swapped over..

A few more jobs still on the list to do, that’s for sure, but nice to know things are getting done now :)

Build Threads / New Build - 430 Spider V6 3.0Ltr
« on: May 29, 2017, 08:20:52 PM »
Evening all,

So most of you will know that I'm building a 430 Spider, but this time it's in red.

This car I won't be holding onto as the wife has put her foot down and told me I must sell it once it's complete.
I won't be scrimping on the build at all, and my ideas are to have this car looking amazing within a few months.
There are lots to do, as all the interior (and I mean all) has been stripped out, and is getting renewed.

The engine is coming out too and all getting tidied up.

More pictures to follow when jobs get done, but keep an eye on this page if you're interested in (what will be a beautiful car)....

4thirty Chat / Engine cover revamped
« on: April 22, 2017, 11:04:47 PM »
Whilst having my new red V6 430 rebuilt, I decided to revamp the Ferrari engine cover, as it was a shocker when I got the car...  ::)

I haven't (on this one) gone to the extremes people like Mark and Paul have gone to, but I'm pretty impressed with end result.

I'm in the process of revamp mine from out of my white car, but this will take a lot longer to complete with the Level I'm trying to get to... (I'll get pictures up ones I'm a bit further forward)

« on: April 13, 2017, 11:19:08 PM »
Guys,

I've just picked up my rear bins from a guy near J29 off M1 who does 'Flocking'...

To say I'm impressed is an understatement, they are just brilliant, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

http://flockingfantastic.co.uk
Plus he's on Facebook as 'FlockingFantastic'

Pictures do not do them justice, I'll try and get better pictures outside tomorrow
