Meets and Events / Newby Hall 8th May
« on: February 25, 2016, 06:34:13 PM »
Hi Guys,
Just got an email regarding this show, as some of you might have as well.
Are we going this year and if so are we having a club stand?

2016 Tickets

We are happy to announce that tickets are available for our spring event at Newby Hall on the 8th May from www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk You must have a valid ticket to park in the group field with SCITP. This will be strictly enforced this year as parking space must be pre-allocated.

Tickets are limited and the ticket office will close on Friday the 6th at 23:00. If you miss the deadline or well sell out, then you will have to pay full price Newby Hall entrance fee and you will have to park with the general public.

Club stands

If you wish to have a club stand then please create your club using the new menu option "Club Stands->Add my group"; you have to be logged in to do select this option. We are happy for clubs to have gazebos and banners but you cannot sell club goods without being an official SCITP stand. It is important that all your members book under your group as we allocate space using it.

Trade stands

I am hard at work sorting out stands for Newby Hall. If you know anyone who may be interested, then pass on our details sales@sportscarsinthepark.co.uk

Spread the news

As always we encourage you to spread the news about Sports Cars in the Park by placing details on your forums. There is also a poster for the event available from the website Newby Hall Poster Facebook contributed to the Newby Hall attendance via forwarding the event out to other car groups. So please pass this message on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, forum and email.

Attendance

Not everyone can commit to a full day at an event and Sports Cars in the park has no intention of changing its policy regarding attendance. Cars in the park is a relaxed event so cars come and go throughout the day. The bulk of cars will be there at 12:00-13:00. Dependent on the weather/commitments people leave at different times and after about 3pm cars start to leave. Our gates open for display cars only at 9:00. Display cars arriving before this time may have to sit in a queue. We need to have everything safe before your allowed on site. If you are travelling from a distance, then we would appreciate you try to arrive before dinnertime. General public open time is 11:00am if you don't have a SCITP ticket then you will have to wait

Parking help

We need a few volunteers to help with parking on the day. Its not difficult and you finish around dinner time. We offer a £20 for your troubles as well as free entry on the day for everyone in your car.

That's what I call service when the waiter from a local wine bar crosses the road to serve you a glass of wine compliments of somebody that admired the car.  :)

4thirty Chat / Abs / PS dash lights
« on: May 31, 2015, 11:31:10 AM »
I have had the ABS dash light on for a while but never got round to sorting it out as the brakes work fine, so after a bit of research on the forums I gave up on it due to other commitments. I also had an outstanding job to do, which was to change the front hub assembly.
Yesterday I started doing this and assumed that as I was changing the suspect wiring from the speed sensor all the way to the connector which is inside the front area of the car, this could solve the issue.
Wrong. In fact I now even have the PS light on. Both constant.
Interestingly, brakes feel OK and power steering feel normal.
I have checked the fuses in the passenger side door and in the front fuse box and all seems fine.
Any ideas? Read somewhere that it could also be a dodgy earth. I will check this today.
Also, speedo is fine and accurate as it matches the GPS system.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks guys.

4thirty Chat / Coil overs / suspension advise.
« on: May 26, 2014, 08:51:20 AM »
Hi guys,
I'm after some advise and opening a discussion on this topic.
I currently run on the standard DNA set up and as you know my car has the V6 conversion.
My ride height looks good and on a decent road it handles well.

Now, as soon as there is even the slightest bump in the road, the rear seems to be bottoming out and the ride is like being on a go kart. Also you get them tump noise which tells you slow down as the rear suspension is non existing.
I also noticed that the front steering can be heavy at times and not willing to return as smoothly as it was before the conversion. Power steering is working fine as it has been checked so one can only assume it's either the geometry or a side effect of the wider track and bigger wheels or a mixture of everything!

I know that some of you have fitted coil overs and would like advise on the benefit that you have honestly seen, felt, once you fitted these. Did you have similar issues to what I have and was the coil overs the cure? Which make, type did you go for, what settings did you use, etc.
Who did you purchase them from, best deal!

I want to sort the ride to give me a good drivability for street use, not track, but still keeping the ride height looking as it should be.

So over to you guys for advise.

4thirty Chat / Feature in Sunday Times
« on: February 04, 2014, 06:44:33 PM »
Hi
I have contacted by the Sunday Times and just to let you know they are doing a feature article on my car either this Sunday or next Sunday.
I thought I'd share this news with you all.
Looking forward to seeing what they write about it.
Hopefully should be a good bit of PR for DNA and us owners.

Meets and Events / Doncaster car show
« on: January 25, 2014, 06:21:21 PM »
Hi All,
I have been in contact with the organiser and they are happy to welcome us.
This is a copy of his email:
we will reserve a spot for however many carsplus a gazebo at  a club rate on the form

I will be getting the respective form and try and put it on this tread as a PDF so everybody can fill in their details and send them off, clearly indicating that you are a member of the DNA Owners Club.
This way he will know who you are and also allocate the respective space. We do need a minimum of 6 cars.
Once I send the form we will start a list with who is coming and their cars so everybody knows.
Hopefully this will be a good event and with the added bonus that it's for a good cause.

Look forward to seeing you all.
