Other kitcar chat / What's it called?
« on: June 07, 2012, 10:01:44 PM »
I'm looking for a garage tool but don't know what it's called.... Can anyone help?

They come in two forms ive seen. It's an extendable pole that you can use to brace a panel.. Its adjustable by sliding one section inside the other and you twist one side to tighten it. I've also seen these in a cross... A bit like a wheel brace. They normally have rubber stops on the ends as well.

Any ideas .

Thanks

Steve

Just wondering what are the bolts called that are flat on top.. them one's you use on the bumper with a flat metal head that stops them turning by glassing them over?  I need a few for this 355.

Sales and Wants / B.A.D Ferrari 355 Spyder Replica forsale
« on: February 23, 2012, 08:40:58 AM »
OK, things haven't turned out as I had planned with my Lambo build but I'm now also an owner of a 355 B.A.D Kitcar that's about 90% completed. It's been on the road before and needs a bit of bodywork sorting out and a new hood before putting back on the road... pictures will come next week.

It's going to be up for £3,000 no offers.. The price of a kit is about 2k.. then you have the car (£1000) / wheels (£1000) / lights (£400+) / badges (£100)/ spacers (£250) / F355 Gear selector plate (£100) etc, so it's a bit of a bargain! You certainly couldn't buy all the bits separate that's for sure.

If you want to come and see it then pm me.

Thanks,

Steve

General Chitchat / Website Banners / Advertise
« on: June 17, 2011, 12:54:00 PM »
I'm thinking about opening up an 'advertise with DNAOC'. Nothing major, just a banner at the top that rotates randomly between those that wish to advertise. I'm thinking of limiting this to 5 or 6 banners in total so it doesn't seem ages before they go round again. This is just to help pay for webhosting etc.

I've seen a growing number of traders using DNAOC as a market place which I don't have a problem with but I think it's unfair that I have to stump up the hosting bill every year when there making money off the back of these forums.

As well as a Banner with your own designed logo / phone number etc you will also get a altered forum title with something like sponsor of DNAOC.

This will be a yearly sponsorship but I'm unsure on how much to charge. All comments welcome.. as nothing is set in stone.

thanks,

Steve

General Chitchat / Website Attack

It appears we are suffering from spam attacks at the moment and causing the server we are hosted on to run very slow. I'm currently working with my host to resolve this.

Apologies for the downtime, should all be back to normal very soon.

Other kitcar chat / Adrian Flux.. proper wan*ers
« on: April 23, 2010, 04:23:17 PM »
Go with footman james.... not these toss#rs

Well I just called up Adrian Flux to transfer my extreme smartcar insurance over to my part build Murcie.. So after waiting 20 minutes and being passed to 4 different people (well the same person twice.. so does that count ? ) They finally decided to tell me they couldn't insure my build as it wasn't being stored at my address in my garage. So I then told them to cancel my smartie policy, thought I might get 50 quid back or something.

They then informed me that it was non-refundable.. bolloxs.. thats the first I heard. The girl then spent another 10 minutes messing about and I was then told they could insure my build, so she took the details address ect. 10 minutes longer.... no sorry sir we can only insure builds upto £25k so they cant swap the policy over and she also said that they need to cancel my smart car policy.

SO.. say I finish my car in afew months time and want to swap my policy over to a fully built car I can't as they cancelled it.

My advice to everyone.. goto footman james.. I insured my DNA through them and never had a single problem.. they were cheaper as well :-)
