Hopefully worked out how to start a new topic.
I have gone quite a distance with my build so please be patient as I add pictures
Will start off with my donor Z3 before the start
Age related plate now registered. I used it as it was for quite a while to check it out, As I had sold my Dino, I took it to a few shows but obviously couldn't use it to get in. Put a few miles on as most shows I go to are 200 or more miles each way

Hi John,

That would be great for some more local shows & meet up with you.

We are in the Italian Replica club, have been in that for 21 years so will stay with them & visit the DNA stand when they are about. Stoneleigh seems to be the only 'kit car' show these days but we do a lot of classic car shows. They are a good bunch & membership is only £4 a year. used to be free but with all the H&S legislation they introduced a small fee. Next year s few of us are going to the Le Mans Classic. We went last year & had a great time. Then I had the Dino which actually behaved itself.

GRP ones not on yet as car is still in paint shop, & I haven't bonded them on yet. Think I will go the same route as you & your pictures are a great help.

Prefer the slanted eared ones to the straights as in the Europa spares ones

Thanks for the feedback jaguartvr, I did wonder about using the original backs to the wheel centres. I thought that the threaded centre would make the access to the studs easier though.
It seems all the feedback for Harringtons on the 250 bumpers, so far all the guys seem satisfied, saying that, it is only what I have read on here & what Brian has told me.

Hi John,
I sent an email off to Raceways, who do the Wheel spinners, they apparently operate from Burton on Trent & import the spinners & hubs from the States. I was querying the use of the thread mount adaptors on our wheels as they state for use on alloy ones. I will post their reply on here.
I wondered about postage & import taxes from America but now I know their location, it would seem nothing to worry about.
I see you are using the thread mount on (which I prefer), wondered, just how secure they are with the grub screws onto metal rather than alloy? Apart from milling off 1 mm, were there any other mods you had to do?

Dear Ian,
firstly we are based in UK (Burton on Trent) but import these from USA so normal post etc. The reason we list these for alloy is you need the depth of metal to accept the insert of the adapter so grub screws can secure, a steel wheel is usually too thin. If the mounting area on the wires is deep enough and has a flat surface to take the grub screws they will work. Several customers take these and use OK or adapt to fit there wheels. We only had a few sets of these last week, but have just sold out again, seem popular at the moment. We will bring some more over in new year.
If you are unsure of fit etc, please give me a call and I will be glad to go over it with you.

Sounds like a good plan to me Jez, I think that is the way to go. It was my thoughts that just bonding on the bar would eventually sag.
I posted an email reply that I got from Christoph from Harringtons re brackets, etc on the stainless bumpers post

Update from Harringtons

Just had an email from Christoph of Harringtons, I asked about thickness of bumpers & brackets & had this reply with PayPal details. The cost is £1500 all in.

Hi Ian,
I have just sent you a payment request.
As we never had the original bumpers her I am not sure how the thickness is, however ours are around 2mm thick as all our bumpers are. If they are thicker we don’t get them in the right shape. As said before we made the brackets according to one of our customers specifications so I am not 100% sure if they would be correct for your car (they might vary a little bit?). So it might be the better choice to send the bumpers without the brackets.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best regards
Christoph

Hope this is of some help to everyone interested. To be honest, I think I will just go for the ones without brackets as I don't know how they will line the sides up

Hi Furrari
I took the car in to Alan Wards the week before last, would have been good to pop in for a cuppa & chat.
I feel a bit remote down here & no build manual to boot. Hope to met a load of you guys soon, hopefully at Stoneleigh
