What would it take to convert the FWD Cougar into AWD? I have heard talk about it.
Would DNA offer this as an upgrade?

no we would not get that involved in a single project and its going to cost to much to do the development and then offer it as a product the price bracket that this is offered into we dont think would want to pay for that although we already have a guy puting his audi V8 in the back so the individual can do as they wish with their builds

I think I read that they were planning on doing a rear V8. Sounds like a heavy dose of effort and money, but to each his own, it would make an immense and incredible project car. I would go in the direction of a supercharger or turbo kit to keep things simple. DNA, was just curious will there be a shifter plate for the 5cudo?

Superchargers for Cougars (V6) apparently very hard to fit/plumb and are costly. The 2.0 I4 is easier to turbo but a nightmare for the V6.

I did some reading up on a website called 3L Duratec. They provide a 3L engine block to fit in as a replacement for the 2.5L. The heads are machined to allow the 2.5L intake manifolds (upper and lower) to bolt on directly without any modifications just as the 2.5L, so hood space would remain the same. There wouldn't be much of an outstanding gain I think they reported + 30-60hp and 30-50torque. Very anxious to see a video of the 5cudo in motion even if it is just cruising around  Cool

Stick on a ST200 UIM, ST200 LIM, 19lb injectors, Throttle body, air filter, Performance headers, performance Y pipe, sports CAT and decent exhaust system and you should be around the 250bhp mark at least.

For those that want to go the whole hog, then yes, stick in the 3 litre ST220 engine with some aftermarket headers and pipes etc and you should be up around the 270bhp mark. This is a much bigger job though as the electrics are different as this engine is from the mk3 Mondeo, not the mk2 that the Cougar is based on.

I am being conservative with the figures as I don't like quoting big figures as every car is different.

Fitting a supercharger is possible but it is VERY tight in the engine bay. I got 350bhp with a C1 Procharger and intercooler fitted to my last 2.5 V6 Cougar........along with 15mpg  Shocked
