hi chaps,
just got my dna 360 spider delivered today. its not as ready for the paint shop as i expected and my partner wasnt that impressed and probably thinks ive lost the plot  ::)lol. i think it was seeing it with no paintwork, trims, seals, lights, nackered hood etc and bits of body trim needing to be finished or attached to brackets etc that makes it look a bit of a nightmare lol.
but hey im happy with it.  Smiley
just need a few tips and tricks on finishing the fine detail to the bodywork like the joins of the door panels where they are bonded to the mr2 skins and the slightly untidy grooves etc,
also how those front lights are kept in the panels etc and the wiring . i think DNA should show all the finishing process on a dvd to make it easy to carry out.
so there you go chaps another spider on the way so all imput, photos, videos and ideas would be much appreciated.
thanks

Have a read through the build threads and that might give you a better clue. We're happy to answer any questions you might pose.

congrates m8 :-) we are here to help !

get some pic's up ! the door seams are just finished off with stikaflex normally which can be painted over.

I wouldn't attempt to use filler over the stikaflex as it tends to crack. Just add some stikaflex on and smooth over with the thumb.

Best advice is don't rush is, if its worth doing then take your time and make it right.. otherwise it will always bug you when its complete as you will think.. Why didn't I spend an extra day doing that ! lol

Also it's worth spending a little extra on the paintjob, don't just go with the cheapest quote.

The wiring for the lights are quite easy. Are any lights (front/back) wired up yet ? If not then I'm sure I've seen a diagram on here somewhere. You need to remember that they are negative switched.. so they have a constant 12v supply and only when the negative is connected do they light up, this confused me to start :-)

Defo go for HID lights up front. There about £90 and come with a HID ballast box. These can be slotted into the end of the original bumper box section (holds bracket for the kit front section). The reason for the HID's is that as well as giving a more quality finish and a better brightness they also run alot cooler and you have less risk of misshaping the plastic lens covers. I bought matching side led light bulb to match on mine :-)

normal sidelight bulb

new led sidelight bulb (only cost £4 a pair)

any questions please just post away :-) Tenpin is like a walking DNA encyclopedia.. :-)

Good luck :-)
