Agreed value on 250
« on: March 01, 2019, 10:00:00 AM »
Any 250 owners with agreed values on their cars?
What values have you put, what insurance company used & how much extra to pay insurance company?
Have you encountered any problems with trying to get an agreed value? I am having a hell of a job trying to get a decent agreed value.
Have tried Adrian Flux & A Plan

Ian.  I have an agreed value of £45,000 with Footman James.  They sent me a form ( on line) As club/forum admin Tenpin was able to fill it in for me.  A good guide for the value is what they sell on eBay or specialist  (total head tuners) car sales places.  The valuation lasts two years before needing renewal.  Or you could speak to Dan from AF on this forum.

Madman may also be able to fill in the forms.   With Stoneleigh coming up soon you can also visit all the stands to talk directly to the representatives.

Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Madman (Steve) did a quote for me last year with Adrian Flux, but they rejected it, AF charged me £130 odd for agreed value but wouldn't go above £40 (it owes me more than that on building it)
There are two on Piston Heads at the moment, one for £75,000 & the other for £99,000 (the only two I have found for sale at the moment). I am not trying to go that high but £60,000 to 70,000 would be good.
I seem to remember one of us guys had a £60,000 agreed value last year, can't remember who he was with though - or if he had any trouble getting it.
Cheers for your reply mate.

My current insurer wanted £470 fully comp with Agreed value costing £140 & would only value to £40,000.
Footman James have quoted £384 & agreed value of £70,000 costing £16 all withe the same insurance company (Ageas). How do you work that out??
Thanks Furrari for your post & suggestion, I have often used Footman James in the past but last year they were way higher than AF. why they all alter so much yearly is beyond me

Ian.  The insurance business is a mystery to me.  I was with Adrian Flux for many years and they were bu far the best price.  They suddenly shot up in price while Footman James came down.  It’s past my little brain.

Lol. Beats me. The only way is to shop around. At least FJ will agree the value at £70,000 (I hope). They said with the right documents that they would - We'll see

For everyones information & hope you find it helpful if you want an agreed value
Got an agreed value of £70,000 on my 250 from Footman James, no problem whatsoever. (Extra cost on insurance of £16)
Once again Adrian Flux couldn't do over £40,000 without a proper classic report (more cost), I had paid an extra £139 last year & they wouldn't budge.
Neither could A Plan go more than £40,000.
The strange thing is, all of the insurances were through Ageas.
Thank you Madman for your help & sorting my form from FJ. (Adrian Flux & A Plan did not do a form for agreed value)
