Hi George,

Can’t seem to pm you, I guess because I’m a newbie.  I’ve managed to damage a second caliper cover on the DN8.  Must be these terrible Lincolnshire roads.

Can you supply a set of these?

Thanks!

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for replying.  Ideally I would like a full set but the one I need most is the front offside (passenger) side.

These are for your beautiful masterpiece of a DN8, which I acquired last year.  You may recall that the front ones are bigger than the rear.  If you need me to measure them please let me know.

Any help that you can provide would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation!

Paul :) ;) ;)

Thanks again Wayne, I really hope that you can help.  The DN8 is a great car and attracts attention whenever I take it out with people wanting to ask questions and take photographs.

I’m trying to keep it as you built it (you can’t improve on perfection  :) ;)). Only change I intend to make is to fit red seat belts. I’ve already found another set of Cougar belts and had them redone in red ready for fitting.

Only problem that I have had is a couple of the fake callipers have become detached at different times   ??? ???which is why I would like to get a set of new ones. Nothing to do with the build though but down to the c**p roads in Lincolnshire.  I’m trying to come up with another type of fixing, rather than the nylock nuts, although they really ought to be sufficient.

I still get intermittent abs lights etc. but as you explained just after I bought the car, this is down to the size of the wheels and tyres.

Georgelooney - George apologies for my bad manners but I just realised that my previous post may have made it look as though I was only thanking Beemaman for his reply.  The thanks were intended for both of you.

Cheers both!

Paul

Paul.

I am currently trying to make copies of the replica West Coast ones for myself and nigelhob.

If it’s successful I’m sure I can make a couple for the 458.

You can follow progress on the West Coast chat page under fibre glass and things.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Hello guys,

Thank you again for all your helpful replies.  Shows what a great club this is.  I must get to some shows next year if I can.  Intended to this year but my wife, who has MS, has also had a couple of other serious illnesses over the spring and summer.

Mick - hope that it won’t offend but I’ll go with the calipers that Wayne can hopefully provide as he built my car in the first place.

Wayne - grateful if you are able to provide the set of four.

Cheers to all!!

Paul

No problem with getting them from Paul.   I’m only doing them for the West Coast 'cos we haven’t got any and they are different to the 458.

Cheers Mick!

I assumed that they would be different. I admire the fact that you have the skills to make them!!  :) :)

Paul.
I haven’t the skills, I’m just leaning.  Most of what I make is scrap, just as it was when I started 3D design and printing and most of my microprocessor programs.   But if you don’t try you don’t succeed and the more you scrap the nearer you are to doing it right.  If you can’t steal it or buy it you have to make it.
