Engines
« on: March 03, 2018, 09:49:19 AM »
Hiya,

I am interested to know what engines you have in your 360's  and 430's

Please can you post any links / builds for me to have a look through.

How does it affect your insurance ?

If you change a 1zz to a 2zz with a supercharger ....... do you have to tell the DVLA and insurance ?

Sorry for all the questions I am an interested newbie and thought I would ask the experts.

Thanks
OXO

Hi,
You would need to advise your insurer of any engine change.
On the majority of our schemes wouldn't be a great deal difference. Might be a slight loading for the addition of a supercharger / turbocharger etc.
Regards,
Dan.

Last time i spoke to my insurer about this sort of thing i was told that when they quote for the engine and you tell them it is a 2.0L  or say 3.0L V6 because its a kit car policy what you do to the engine on top of this is unlikely to affect your policy price. (i asked about a V6 conversion and they told me it would be the same price as standard V6, Chipped V6 or even supercharged V6 )
