Another little job that didn’t work.
Those of you that have seen the underside of my bonnet will have seen the tangle of wires behind the bonnet vent, so I thought I’d better (finally) make a cover for them.
I like to print with PLA as it’s easy to work with. It’s not been a problem in the past using it under the bonnet as all the parts have been supported. PLA has a glass transition temperature ( tech speak for it goes soft) of 60 degrees, so perhaps this wasn’t the best move in the world. ( under bonnet temp is probably 80 -90 degrees.).
This time I’ve heat treated the bits before I fitted them. This improves the strength by 40%, the stiffness by 25% and raises the GTT to about 120 degrees, so here’s hoping.
