I am interested in a pair of bumpers. I have already contacted Harrington's for information and they now do a set with brackets built into the bumpers for fixing.

So the choice is...with brackets or without?

I don't know, because I already have hydro-chromed ones fitted...I don't mind chopping them up....but I need more info on fixings really....

Anyway, I want a pair...just got to decide on the question above....in my situation, with or without?
If Airfix plastic model planes are made exactly to scale, why don't they fly?

Hi Perce,

I will post step by step photos later today on how I chopped up my grp bumpers to mount the stainless ones.

I have posted the step by step guide to fitting the bumpers in my own build thread, so you can see it all there.  See  Jeremy's 2Fifty Cal story begins....

Update from Harringtons

Just had an email from Christoph of Harringtons, I asked about thickness of bumpers & brackets & had this reply with PayPal details. The cost is £1500 all in.

Hi Ian,
I have just sent you a payment request.
As we never had the original bumpers her I am not sure how the thickness is, however ours are around 2mm thick as all our bumpers are. If they are thicker we don’t get them in the right shape. As said before we made the brackets according to one of our customers specifications so I am not 100% sure if they would be correct for your car (they might vary a little bit?). So it might be the better choice to send the bumpers without the brackets.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best regards
Christoph

Hope this is of some help to everyone interested. To be honest, I think I will just go for the ones without brackets as I don't know how they will line the sides up

If you already have the grp bumpers, then this would be the easiest / safest option. Not knowing exactly how the brackets are designed and will line up is a concern.
There may be a little more work if the grp bumpers are already bonded to the metalwork, but nothing an angle grinder cannot deal with!

GRP ones not on yet as car is still in paint shop, & I haven't bonded them on yet. Think I will go the same route as you & your pictures are a great help.
