Just changing your rear springs will affect your headlights. You might have to get them re-aligned.

Thanks for the info Jez never thought of that another job to add to the list. Off to Kent Kit Car Club Friday night so I'll be quite interesting driving it back in the dark. Let's hope it isn't raining.   8)8)

Had a busy week this week when I got my car I had a tonneau cover that fits over the roof I tried it when I was building the car and it wouldn't fit because of the rear bulkhead. So I thought I'd have a go at making it fit so I got a piece of ply and fitted a few blocks to the ply about the same measurements then took the cover and a steamer and started to steam and bend a little bit at a time just take it steady. It looks ok the only problem the little pigs that stick up near the doors I had to unscrew and packed them up with two small washers and a spring washer in between to make them that little bit higher. I'm not sure when two die it Black or red but not might not get the same red as the seats or could leave it as it is, what do you guys think.

Hey John. Great job mate. I’m unfamiliar with this cover. Does it need to be removed to lift the roof? Do the bolts need to be removed for the roof to lift? The bolts could be chromed but some really nice proprietary looking trim bolts or even knurled thumbscrews or little turn levers might be a nice touch, though again, I don’t know what they do yet :)

As far as colour of the cover goes, red might look good but also might be too much red overall. Black pillowcases usually go with black roofs. One thing is certain; Tan is horrendous 😄

Such a stunning car

Hi guys thanks for your replies so far I have been thinking about the red the problem would be getting the colour dye the right red so I think I might go for black.
Hi seriph in sunny Australia yes it has to be removed so that you can lift up the roof but it will fold up and fit in the front of the boot. The clips that hold it down I like little pop studs see picture.
First picture is the little nipple that holds the cover down that I had to pack up with two washers and a spring washer in the middle.
Second picture is the pop stud  on the top
3 picture is the pop stud from underneath the cover
4 picture is the instructions on how to fit it.
5 picture is it folded up ready to fit in the boot.

Thank you tenpin for the picture of what it would look like in red I'm not sure now where to do go for red or black shall have to wait and see if I can get the right colour dye anyway at least it looks better and seeing the roof all folded up at least it doesn't look like a BMW roof anymore when it's folded down what's happened to all the sunny weather I want to drive with the roof down.   8)8)

They are known as "Tenax" fasteners.
If Airfix plastic model planes are made exactly to scale, why don't they fly?

Thanks for a great review of the Tenax clips. Such a great innovation. They’d look good in chrome regardless of cover trim but black looks ok too. I love the way th cover folds up.

The pillowcase seems a bit modern but I doubt it matters. If one was to retrain it, I imagine some nice boot stitching would add a more period look. But I know I’m nitpicking here. The combo of red and white is lovely mate. I’m so bloody jealous of you guys!

Thought for completeness, I'd show a black cover as well.
