Ok, got the bar that fits the hoops in the mail so I got to working again.

Quick question... installing the bar, but the plastic from the original MR2 that goes around the seat belts in in the way. Am I correct that this gets cut? I will show you the area that hits in which I am referring too in the pictures below.

Here's a photo, taken before I tidied up all the cuts. I'm sure you could do it differently which wouldn't leave any cuts showing....

well, ive made aalot of progress since my last update. I now have one door fitted, with my bondo-spacers lines up nice and clean. I fitted the front spare tire top back on with some custom cuts, and i think ill be able to make it somewhat water tight... which is important in this storage needy car.

I have the hoops installed now, bonnet, rear deck, and glass.

I think the major things I have left is are fuel filler door, door cards, headlights, and side mirrors.

I finished the tail lights... it was actually pretty easy.

I started afixing the door panels today. I'm hoping tomorrow to have the on. You have to build up quite alot of bondo to get it to the height needed on the top side of the door. I saw this when larry did it on his car, and decided to screw in peices of wood to the door to start off with it close to the height needed. it is much easier and faster. I also didnt want to waste bondo. I will seal the wood with elmers glue.. its what botanists and gardeners use to seal their wooden structures that get watered every day to keep it water proof.

This pic has both sides.. copy and save it to your HD to see the full pic. this site does not expand to fit.

The way I have it laid out right now is as so:

Braking: center lights go full circle
Running light: outer lights have outer half lit. (this should be full but there are only 2 lights in it?)
Turn: yellow outer light blinks
Backup: center white lights on solid.

I don’t know if the outer lights are supposed to be the outer half, or turned so that the top half lights. I have seem videos online that seem different.

This is how I ended up wiring it. I am not sure that I have the sequence perfect as videos online seemed to contradict each other about what the proper sequence is supposed to be for braking, running lights, etc.

Anyways, the left light is an OUTER light (4 wires). The inner lights get 3 wires.

In this pic, from left to right we have:

1.   Solid green
2.   Green with black stripe  (I think turn, cant rem)
3.   Green with yellow stripe (brake)
4.   Yellow with black stripe (ground)

1.   Green with yellow stripe (brake)
2.   Red with black stripe (reverse light)
3.   Empty
4.   Yellow with black stripe (ground)

Have a look at this video..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6WYZDzulow&feature=related

outer lights / outer circle only - Brake lights (brightest bulb)
outer lights / whole light - driving lights
outer lights / center orange - indicator
inner lights / center white - reverse
inner lights / whole light - fog

hope this helps, the outer lights have dual filiment bulbs in them, but only the outside bulb works, confused me to start with.

Hey guys... anyone still around? I had to pause my build for a long time, but im finishing it up now.

Side mirrors, rear brake light, engine cover latches are next up.

I saw not many are posting here anymore. did the group move to facebook, or did it just die?
