Parking Sensors on DN8 - Front and Back
« on: December 02, 2015, 12:58:44 AM »
Hi all,

Seeking a little advice and direction in regards to parking sensors.

I have done a brief EBay and web search and the systems all seem a bit cheap. (upto £150)

Ideally I am looking for a professional installer who can do a brilliant job installing a good quality system. (budget upto £400 all in)

Must have colour coded sensors... obviously.

Interested in what Beemaman thinks.... I guess he considered this?

All your thoughts would be appreciated.

if they are good then no need to drill bumper

I think drilling into bumper should be last resort. What about mounting them discreetly on the rear diffuser. I mount my camera in the gap on my 430 on the rear diffuser. You could place 4 sensors along the top of ur diffuser, painted black.

Lets be frank, parking sensors on the front and back do look a little rubbish especially on a super car.

However, the fact is they do actually work and more importantly stop you from light bumping.

I think I will have a look at a real deal 458 and try and replicate the parking sensors set up.

I definitely like the idea of calling in a pro to do the job... I will have a chat with Beemaman this week when I see him and let you all know his thoughts.

I do like the look of Lee's and Cheets sensor set up. very nice indeed.

Do you guys know if an engineer will find the system easy to install on the cougar/DN8?

I guess it has to be connected to the cars reverse system some how????

Hi Wayne there is the metal stick on strip ones that require no drilling and work quite well.then there's the ones I fitted to lee22 car and the rears will just need wiring to a earth and a live and reverse.just pop out the rear light and pick up the reverse etc it's not too hard.dame goes for the gets there not too bad.

On my 5cudo I used the stick-on-the-inside-of-the-bumper type, which I quite liked.
It works down to a much closer distance than the ultra-sonic type, and it doesn't shout until you are much closer. BUT it only senses objects when the distance between you and the object is changing, so when you stop, it goes quiet no matter how far you are from the object.
