Rear spoilers and wings.

Just wondering what all your thoughts are towards having big rear spoilers and wings fitted to your replicas?
The Lemans Ferrari has a huge black rear wing fitted.
There's a few around that have different styles.
What's your thoughts?

as people always say, it is your car so it's up to you. my opinion? unless your going for the race car look, with all the stickers as well, i'd leave it without spoilers etc..

i haven't had many cars in my life but now at the grand old age of 35 i am of the opinion sublte touches are better and more inclined to leave cars more or less as standard. when i was a 17 year old boy racer i thought the way to go was to stick loads of bits on, but car manufacturers have changed over the years and offer more sporty styling as standard (or cost less to add on as upgrades) BMW and Merc are good examples, as now you get an AMG styled merc for not much more on the cost of a standard merc. the E46 BMW 5 series M sport is a good example here. you could still get it as a 2 litre but it came with the body kit which looks tons better than standard.

As for these replicas, (and i'm only really talking about the 430 here) I wanted to keep mine more or less standard looking as it looks lovely as it is, espcially the rear (sorry Phil  :-*)
I'm always afraid if you add too many bits on people will start to question again what it is. but that is just my opinion. HTH

What I like is that I think that this spoiler is subtle and fits with the Hamaan theme I am doing...I even managed to get a Hamaan badge!

...bu,t like Paul says, its your car, do it as you want, for every lover, you will get a hater....
What colour should a Ferrari be?...ROSSO of course!

OK going to sound stupid now.......but I don't care........what's a Hamaan ???

Sir P
If Airfix plastic model planes are made exactly to scale, why don't they fly?

Hamaan is a motor sport company like AMG is for Mercedes.

I agree with paul too, but after seeing more pictures of Phil's, I love the way it looks...
Possibly because Phil hasn't gone to silly extremes with the hight of the rear spoiler, but I think it looks spot on.

Again, I agree with Paul.. If you like it and it floats your boat.. Go for it.. Who says what everyone else thinks is right.? There is no right or wrong, when it comes to this part of a kit car build... It's down to personal preference..!
For example, who in their right mind would have a WHITE Ferrari..!?!?  Ferrari's are Red.. Full stop.. But some idiots like them in white..!

So if it's your thing, and you love it... Go for it..!

You could always average out red and white and go for pink (a bit like Kals undercoat).

That rear wing looks OK on a 430 but when The Furrari was down at DNA we offered up a rear wing like yours.  It looked dreadful.  The West Coast needs a more subtle one because it is a GT not a sports car.
Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

How about this for colour?
You could get white lightning vinyl wrapped to this colour.
Actually now I've looked at it closer I feel quite sick.
eeeek

I think the other one is worse.

As Bruce  Springsteen said to me once. I asked what colour is his ferrari? He replied. Blood red son blood red.  Since then for me a ferrari must be red.

I don't feel too well.  Those rate with a greasy rasher of bacon and a runny fried egg after a night on the town.
