Bangster
The trouble with going down the wide body route is that you don't add to the value, in fact it goes down as modified Mercs do not have a good second hand value.  The value of a kit car is based on year of conversion as well as condition.  Anybody can have a second hand Merc, but a Furrari, that's different.
I know which I preferr.
No the black one is not mine, that's the buck the moulds are taken from.  Mines the gray blue one.
Haven't a clue on the actual dimensions, but it looks damn good.

Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Madman,
Here is a photo I found to give you an idea of what it could look like.
Happy Easter.

@dna, could you take some snaps of the car in this same angle/view?

Roof would be standard Mercedes action I'd imagine.

Shocked the hell out of my mate. He loves Californias and I showed him the pics. He said "ok, what's so special?"

Then I told him to look at the steering wheel

:D

I doubt anyone would call this a 'budget build'

which angle do you want to see??

was hoping to see angles comparable to some of the pics of the california, so there's an easier side by side comparison.
It already looks bad-ass from the few teaser pics, but would like to see side by side images since we are in the US and in no way can see the actual cor in person :)

Nice work guys!

EDIT:

Some nice image angles to have side by side with :)

Would be interested in same angle shots as these.  Notice no frontal shots, because I think from the pics on page1, they already show the car is dead on with the cali :)

Here you go. So they are not exactly the same from the side, but I personally think (and I'm sure many others will also) the West Coast is BETTER looking that the real thing. I said this with the 4Thirty and I say this again with the West Coast, DNA have improved upon the original. They can't make it exactly the same as the real thing anyway for reasons we all know of. We can all see what it replicates and at the end of the day, it is a great looking car regardless of what badge is on it and that is my eyes is all that matters. Well done again guys  ;D

Awesome, so turnkey price for body conversion and recommended wheels and tyres, but no interior changes, to receive donor and return it completed..?

And, some clarification on donor options would be great...

SL500, 2002/3 through 2008 for sure.

What about SL55 AMG, SL600 or SL65 AMG from same period?

And, how about the facelift versions from 2009-2011/2..?  Wee they exterior changes only so would still work or no..?  If they are good still, then that also opens up SL500 or SL63 AMG as options.

Unsure if UK had all those options, but SL55 AMG is a supercharged V8, and SL600 is twin turbo V12, both offering 493hp.  SL65 AMG went to 604hp.  SL63 AMG around 518hp.  All significantly more than the 300hp or so of the SL500.
