My first go at printing a PCB. ( well one side of it)
After printing it on my normal printer I got it photocopied on a laser copier that uses toner. I cleaned the copper board with fine wet or dry and then acetone, positioned the 'copy on it and fixed it with a bit of capton tape.
With it in place I followed the vid on YouTube. Ironing it through a bit of kitchen towel. Nothing. Tried again. Still nothing. Finally I ironed the back of the print directly and used a lot more force, let it cool and it was stuck, just as it was supposed to. Into some water and soaked it for five minutes. The paper came off the copper almost cleanly. A bit of a rub and the rest came off. This method is called the toner transfere method.
I’m not 100% happy with the transfere so I inked in the pads I’m going to solder to with etch resistant ink.
Next I’ve got to drill the holes in the pads. That’s for tomorrow.
