The Mk2 version of the end mounting for the new diffuser wing done ( well one end anyway).

The Mk2 version has the little winglets on the end.  This finishes them off nicely ( in my biased opinion). It's only held on with double sided tape at the moment so that's the end of the work until after Shepton Mallet this weekend and then it's rubbing down and bonding the wing and end plates together and all off for paint.

Pic 1 & 2).  The CAD drawing on the computor.

Pic 3 & 4). The end plate/mounting fixed, just to the existing wing.  In the last Pic you can see the intermediate mountings as well.  These are also just fixed with double sided tape for looking at and thinking purposes.  As I said earlier, the pillar mountings are just temporary to get an idea of distances and angles.

I hope my dust extraction system ( a second hand vacuum off eBay) has arrived by then.

Not all problems can be solved with gaffer tape.  For those there is WD40.
Not even gaffer tape can fix stupid, but it can mask the sound.

If you can’t buy it or steal it you have to make it.

Wow. Your skills are impressive. This is really beginning to look like something designed by a multimillion dollar team of designers. Testament to what we can achieve as individual makers - not without help of course, but still ...

This also provides insight into why prototyping takes soooooo long and costs soooooo much  :)

Seriph.  Thank you for those few kind words.  Even using 3D printing instead of bits of metal it's slow work to produce.  Each modification and print takes a day each, but it's easy to change.  These are a couple of mods to do on the end strake of the winglets but that's after paint.

Looking on this forum you can see a very wide range of skills, outside their owners day to day occupation.

Really nice looking prints them. Are you doing them out of PLA or ABS?

I'm using ABS.  A quick try before leaving for the Bristol show showed me that the body is slightly different side to side so I have a slight mod to do.  I was going to put a prancing horse on each end after paint but Tenpin has come up with the idea of doing the print with the shape of the horse sunk into the end plate and then puting the horse in after paint so it's flush.  In going to give that a try, just because I can.

OH BUGGER.  What I thought was a jarred wrist just before the Shepton show has turned out to be a broken wrist so all physical work has stopped on the car.  Plus I have a cat show hall to manage in a week.
I can still use the computer to design some bits I was hoping to do after the diffuser and engine so I'll just bring them forwards.

My new boot organiser has arrived from Bulgaria ( eBay, and no it doesn't come with an umbrella) The quality and look is superb.

I've asked if she can do one in black leather with yellow logo and text on.  That can go on the back seat thing.

Only went down to DNA to show Ray who is building a West Coast for John ( don't know Surnames) some details on the Furrari.  John saw my boot organiser and thought it would suit his red with cream interior better than my black interior so he pinched it (yes he did pay for it ).  I'd better order a new one in black with yellow to match the back seat ones.

It's just a lovely thing. I've searched but had no luck finding them on eBay. That cream leather is particularly nice but black would be stunning too. Makes me want to get a full set of fitted luggage for the 250 :)

Seriph.
I think the eBay number is Ri2389999930672BG.  It's under " boot organiser" but it's not listed.  eBay shows BMW, Merc etc so I just asked if she could do one for me with a Ferrari horse on.  When it arrived it was better than I expected with not only the horsey on but the Ferrari text as well. I was very impressed so I asked if she could do we two smaller ones in black with yellow stitching.  These are on their way to me and I'll post pics of them.
I'll measure up tomorrow to see if I can get them made up to fit with my suitcase in.  It's a pity I can't get my suitcase done as well.
If your ordering them, and want them the same they were ordered in my wife's name (Jill Coomer)
There can't be too many kit cars with bespoke lugage in.   :-)

Brilliant thanks! Does the name AVITON ring a bell?

It's weird that I don't know what I'll put in it but I want it regardless.

Seriph.
AVITON?  Never heard of it..   The place I got mine from was MARIYANA2012-by.   Hope you can find her on that search.
Best of luck.

As a last resort I will ask her if she will ship to you and pay for them on my account.  Getting them here and then me shipping to you doubles the postage.

Mick.
