As for a great end to a great show.... and things to make people jealous....
When everyone else had gone there were just two cars left - one was red and the other blue... (see pic)
With apologies to anyone who wanted to claim first sit-in rights to the DN8, I was allowed that privilege OUTside of the show hall.
Somehow
, a little later on, I found myself in possession of a Ford key which didn't work in my 5cudo, well, those keys all look alike, don't they?
What can I say? Perhaps it was the RED mist, or that the gate to the field was left open...
Anyway, I took the DN8 out for a drive
Right from the start it felt amazing, the speed bumps at Stoneleigh - no problem! I'm sure there must be a speed limit on site - it's just finding where to put that decimal point (10.0 or was that 100). So, I wouldn't have gone faster than that. The car felt planted on the road, giving the confidence to make 'reasonable' progress
, corners - no problem either.
I'd have loved to really throw it round the bends
and fully explore its' roadholding and its' ability to soak up the 'smooth' undulations that are the current state of the UK roads
, but I was mindful that this was DNA's pride and joy (not to mention that I might have been very unpopular if I'd broken it!). I've got a few good roads in mind which I think would be fun in it.
Let me see, I took my 5cudo to John O'Groats last year....
I want one, oh, did I say that out aloud
