cheers guys! its been a long old build!
Today I was just pottering around with the car, I drilled holes under the doors to let out any water that gets in, I also took the seats out and hoovered the carpet ready for my replica seats coming hopefully Monday night.....
I then removed the rear diffuser, as, if you remember, I had actually fitted ALL the rear lights in the wrong sides!
The correct way is brake lights should light the outside half of the light unit and the fog lights should light the inside half of the light unit.
So I removed all my lights and swapped them over, now, one thing I have always wanted to do was have my break lights light up the full circle of the light unit, so I decided to investigate if this is possible, and guess what? its absolutely VERY easy to do, as the light unit is already fitted with 2 dual filament bulbs, so, unscrewing the bulb holder from the light unit and looking inside, you can see in Pic 1 circled that the metal part that lights up the brake light has a gap in it, I stuck a screwdriver in to bridge the gap and both bulbs lit! sorted!
Pic 2, I then took a pop rivet and chopped off the bottom and most of the "pin" part...
Pic 3, ...and then forced it into the gap to bridge it!
Job done! I reassembled and it now works a treat lighting up thew full circle.
Simple mod if you want the full circle of brake light.
Also, I was looking at the ashtray part and I think I am going to cut this out to make a surround for my stereo using my spare one from the green machine (which I will replace later), I started it, but my dremel cutter adapter broke, so I will have to get another one to finish this job.....
