will 20" wheels fit on the DNA F430
« on: December 06, 2018, 10:58:20 AM »
Hi all, ive purchased a DNA F430 and it currently has 19's on, however they look quite small compared with arch space, will 20's fit?

19's are very close to the wheel arch already......

I have the standard DNA wheels on the car which are 19"

does anyone know the specificatrions? J sizes and offsets etc?

The reason being is i'm not keen on them so would like to get another set but need to match up the specs? Can i go wider on the back?

Take a wheel off

It will tell you on The back

Not all where the same

Mine are 5 * 100 with a 35 offset

But may not be the same

Post a picture of them, we may be able to help

Hi the wheels on my car were purchased with the kit and are exactly the same as the wheels in this picture: http://www.dnaoc.co.uk/images/frontpage/6.jpg

I've found out they are AEZ KBA 8J 19" 5 x 114.3 however i dont know the offset, can anyone help?

Taking them off the car at the moment to check isn't possible due to location.

You might have to take the wheel off and look on the inside of the metal cast of the hub where lug nuts are. Should be a EJ and then two numbers stamped in the metal, that will be your offset.

I’ll be surprised if the offset is different to mine 35

But that pictures you have linked to is Paul79’s car.
You could always PM him and ask him if he knows off the top of his head what offset his wheels are?

What rubber do you have on - any room to go thinner to allow for 20 inch rims?
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

My 19” slightly rub on the front when turning corners, and my wheel archers have been taken back, so no idea how you have managed to get 20” rims and tyres into the Mr2 wheelarch

The Mr2 inner wheel arch was never designed to take a large wheel, when DNA designed the kit it was one of the problems they had to overcome, that's where the hammer comes into effect. Bear in mind the guys made this kit as user friendly as possible, no welding, standard tools etc....
To get the correct tracking width both wheels had to be pushed out, the DNA standard way was wheel spacers, here lies another problem, the swivel arc of the front wheel then becomes larger and fouls on the rear inner arch, here's where you bash it with a hammer. The standard 19" wheel then fits the car

Several methods allow for 20" wheels, bash the hell out of the wheel arch, some builds comment on the footwell splitting from the hammering even on the standard kit set up, the top lip seal also needs tapping up, another method is to move the swivel arc out using a wide track kit, this takes out the necessity for wheel spacers also reducing the left to right swivel arc, you can now fit 20" rims. This is a lot of work for an already finished build.

The choice is yours, I'm already set up for 20" wheels, but my suspension is Audi and not Mr2
I'm always interested in ways owners improve their cars, maybe this will be how you do yours

Well, I'm into the 11th year of the project, could it be ready for Stoneleigh 2020, doubt it. The longest DNA build ever
