I have been stopped recently as well. I recon they just want a look in !!!!
Think that every car requires a front plate though ?

Don't know about the 458 not needing a front number plate but remember your car is not a Ferrari F458, it's a DNA replica of a 458. It will therefore need a front plate regardless.

Join the club .. told them the same thing about number plates and they checked and went "oh yeah " didnt know that. Terrible excuse to stop someone

It's great reading these myths and legends about what Police can and can't do. Regarding front index plates, you need one fitted regardless of the make/model of vehicle. Failure to do so will earn you a £100 FPN. You could say I have a bit of knowledge in this area! ;)
